As Tanjiro and Giyuu continue their journey, the atmosphere remains heavy with silence. Tanjiro's eyes are downcast, his heart burdened by the weight of his loss. Sensing his despondency, Giyuu took it upon himself to explain the purpose and significance of the Demon Slayer Corps. Walking side by side, Giyuu speaks softly to Tanjiro, describing the Corps as an organization dedicated to eradicating demons and protecting humanity. He then asks if tanjiro wants to join.

Tanjiro's mind swirls with conflicting thoughts. He contemplates the pros and cons of joining the Demon Slayer Corps. On one hand, it offers him a chance to gain the necessary skills and knowledge to avenge his family and protect others from the demons' wrath. On the other hand, he fears the dangers that await him, the sacrifices he will have to make, and the toll it may take on his own humanity.

Giyuu, sensing Tanjiro's internal struggle, advises him to take his time and truly think about his decision. He emphasizes the importance of fully understanding the path he is about to embark on, knowing that it will require great strength and unwavering resolve. With these words echoing in his mind, Tanjiro finally reaches a resolution within himself. He decides to join the Demon Slayer Corps, driven by his burning desire for justice and the need to protect others from suffering the same fate as his family.

Arriving at their destination, Tanjiro and Giyuu find themselves standing before Sakonji Urokodaki's house. Giyuu imparts his final task of leaving Tanjiro in Urokodaki's care. Understanding the magnitude of Tanjiro's grief and the need for solace, Giyuu approaches Urokodaki and earnestly requests him to take care of Tanjiro.

Giyuu explains the tragic fate that befell Tanjiro's family, emphasizing the profound loss he has suffered and the fragile state of his heart. Urokodaki, recognizing the pain etched upon Tanjiro's face, compassionately agrees to offer him the guidance and support he needs. Assured that Tanjiro is in capable hands, Giyuu bids his farewell and departs.

The next morning dawns, and Urokodaki leads Tanjiro to the top of the mountain, where his first assignment awaits. Standing amidst the mist, Urokodaki imparts his final instructions to Tanjiro. He must make his way back to the cabin, navigating the treacherous traps and obstacles that lie in his path. With a solemn nod, Urokodaki vanishes into the swirling mist, leaving Tanjiro alone to face his trial.

As Tanjiro descends the mountain, he battles exhaustion and pain, his determination the only fuel that keeps him going. He strategizes, carefully assessing each trap and obstacle, using his wits and newfound skills to overcome the challenges in his path. Every step is a struggle, every movement a testament to his resilience.

Finally, battered and weary, Tanjiro returns to the cabin. The door creaks open, and he enters quietly. Urokodaki, who has just finished dinner, casts an astonished gaze upon Tanjiro. With a mix of surprise and admiration, Urokodaki remarks, "I'm genuinely surprised you made it. Most people who attempt this trial don't survive. Well done, Tanjiro."

As the words sink in, Tanjiro finds a flicker of pride stirring within his heart, however faint. It is a small glimmer of hope, a spark of determination that despite his sorrow, he has taken his first step on the path of becoming a Demon Slayer.
