As they were browsing in a boutique that specialized in Omega’s intimates, Xichen sidled up beside him and began sifting through the racks of nighties nonchalantly.

Weiying wasn’t really interested in this stuff (he had no need for lingerie, and he definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable sleeping in any of this stuff at Lanzhan’s place), but Meng Yao and sizhui (who had made everyone promise not to tell Madam Lan or Lanzhan) had wanted to come in. he supposed that he could use a new undergarments, at least, although the price tags made His question just how badly he needed one.

“So, I hear Mother gave you two lovebirds Her blessing to use the Caiyi Island house,” Xichen drawled casually.

Weiying eyed Him. he knew enough about Xichen to be wary. The fact that Xichen knew about His and Lanzhan’s arrangement made His feel ill at ease, especially knowing that Xichen had chosen His abusive father over His mom and Lanzhan.

“For appearances,” Weiying said pointedly.

“Mm-hm.” Xichen pulled a lacy nightie year off the rack and held it up to Weiying. “You look like a medium. What do you think?”

Weiying eyed the risqué outfit before he looked at Xichen. “It’s...not really my style.”

Xichen huffed out a breath as if Weiying had just annoyed Him before he put it back and faced Him again.

“Appearances, dear,” Xichen murmured.

Weiying crossed his arms over his chest. “I don’t think my underwear applies.”

“Maybe not.” Xichen looked at his manicured brow arched. “But you mean to tell me that you have no interest in getting some... perks out of all of this?”

Weiying’s jaw dropped open. “What?”

Xichen chuckled. “Come on, Weiying. You have to be married to my brother for five years. You should at least get something out of it.” He gave Weiying a pointed look. “He would, you know. Gege is so desperate to stay that he would do anything you asked him to.”

Weiying’s mouth opened and closed several times before he managed to speak. “That’s awful, Xichen.”

“It makes sense ,” Xichen retorted. “What are you getting out of this arrangement besides your new promotion, which was really by happenstance rather than Lanzhan offering it to you?”

“Sex is not that important,” Weiying hissed, unable to believe that they were having this conversation.

Xichen laughed haughtily. “Then you’re not having the right kind of sex.” he eyed Weiying curiously. “Have you two come to an agreement about...extra-marital relations?”

Heat rose in Weiying’s cheeks. “No. We haven’t...talked about it.” he hadn’t even really been thinking about it.

“Well, you should. You should get some enjoyment out of this.” Xichen held up another piece of lingerie. “And you can wear this while you’re doing it.”

“Why do you care so much, anyway?” Weiying snapped irately.

“Hm, I don’t really know.” Xichen pressed the lingerie on Him. “But I like you, and I like my brother. I want this to be a happy arrangement.”

Weiying blinked. “Nothing is going to happen between me and Lanzhan.”

“I never said it would,” Xichen replied. He eyed Weiying. “I told him to take you to Caiyi Island, you know.”
