Harold Lowe POV:

We slowly steered the lifeboat to where passengers were screaming, begging for our help. It was quiet now, not a source of movement. "Do you see any moving? Check them, make sure. Bring that oar up here!" Crewmen picked up the bodies of frozen survivors. "These are dead, sir." They placed them back into the water. "Now giveway, ahead easy. Careful with your oars. Dont hit them," I commanded. "IS THERE ANYONE ALIVE OUT THERE?! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?! IS THERE ANYONE ALIVE OUT THERE?!" Realisation hit me. We selfishly waited so they wouldn't pull us down and now this was the effect of it. "We waited too long. Well keep checking them, keep looking! IS THERE ANYONE ALIVE OUT THERE?! CAN ANYONE HEAR ME?!

Rose POV:

I stared into the night sky as I saw a shooting star soar across. It felt like hours since the titanic sank from under us. And still, no boat. I quietly sang to myself. "Come Josephine in my flying.. machine. And its up she goes. Up she goes. Come Josephine... in my flying..." I was interrupted by some sort of commotion. I felt a light shine on my face. I slowly turned my head and gasped. It was a boat. Jack was right. They came back for us. We were going to make it after all, my hope had been restored. "Jack." No reply. I lifted my head up and stared at him. His eyes were closed. "Jack." Still no response. "Jack." I shook him. Was he sleeping? I tried to shake him awake. "Jack. There's a boat. Jack." Nothing. I shook him more. "Jack. Jack." I shook him a with a little more effort this time. "Jack!" Then realisation slowly passed through me before hittingme like a tidal wave. That tidal wave broke me. He wasn't asleep. He was... dead? It couldn't be true. He had to be alive. "Jack... there's a boat, Jack. Jack?"

I begun to sob. He was dead. I slowly laid my head down and cried. There was nothing I wanted more in that moment than to just... die with him. See him again in a better place. I closed my eyes and waited.. to die. A moment later my eyes shot back open as I remembered my promise. To survive. To go on. To never let go. "Come back. Come back! Come back! Come back!" I sat up and tried to shout although my voice was weak. "Come back, come back! Come back... come back!"

I broke my hand free from Jack's grip and stared at him... the man who changed me... who showed me a side of myself I never knew I had. "I'll never let go. I promise," I said, kissing his stone cold hands. I let go, allowing him to sink into the deep sea. I stared at him as he sunk down. And down. And down. Until he was finally no longer visible. I sobbed for a second before my eyes darted over to a deceased man with a whistle. With all my might, I pushed myself off of the door and paddled over to him. I took the whistle from his mouth and blew into it as hard as I could. I stared as I blew into it, watching the lifeboat slowly turn back around and head for me.
