Lanzhan looked down at him. “Do you want something to eat, or are you ready for bed?”
As if on cue, Weiying yawned, covering his mouth with his free hand. “Bed, please.”
Lanzhan guided him up the stairs, pausing on the landing as he considered the doors. “Well, there’s five bedrooms. Take your pick.”
Weiying blinked. “Oh.” He frowned down at him, and he blushed. “Well...I was assuming...we’d be sharing a bedroom?”
Color rose in his cheeks. “Oh, um, I just...didn’t want to make any assumptions.” He smiled softly at him. “But if you want…”
Weiying smirked up at him. “Seeing as we’ve been sharing a bed for weeks, I don’t mind sharing some more.”
“Me either.” He led him to the far end of the hall. “I’m assuming everything was set up in the master bedroom.”
That was confirmed when he opened the door and found the bedside table lamp on as well as an arrangement of luggage—more than Weiying knew what to do with—at the foot of the king-sized bed.
“As I suspected,” Lanzhan muttered.
“Gods, how much stuff do Xichen and Meng Yao think we need?” Weiying asked as he stepped towards the pile of suitcases. “What, did they think we were moving in?”
Lanzhan shook his head and chuckled. “I’m sure this was more Meng Yao’s doing. I’m surprised he hasn’t put himself and Xichen into debt with his shopping addiction.”
Weiying grabbed the tag hanging from the handle on one of the suitcases. his name was written on it in girly cursive. He looked back and saw that Lanzhan had hesitated in the doorway, looking decidedly uncomfortable. He frowned.
“Is everything okay?” he asked him.
Lanzhan pushed his hand through his hair before he offered him a thin smile. “Yeah, it’s just...weird being back home. I haven’t...I haven’t been back since my parents were still together. So it’s just...weird.”
Weiying looked around the bedroom, suddenly understanding. “Oh. We can, um, sleep in a different room, if you’d like.”
He shook his head before he finally stepped deeper into the room. “No, it’s fine. This is probably the only bedroom that’s been set up, and my mom completely redecorated.”
“Okay, if you’re sure.”
“I am.” He huffed out a breath. “I’m honestly too tired to do anything more than go to bed.”
“Me too. Now if I can find some pajamas…”
Weiying picked up one of the suitcases with his name and set it on the end of the bed. Likewise, Lanzhan came over and found one with his name on it and opened it. Weiying unzipped his suitcase, but found that it was filled with summer clothes, Shirt and shorts and blouses. He had to admit, Meng Yao had good taste, even if some of these were things Weiying wouldn’t normally pick out for himself.
Not finding what he needed, he closed it up and put it back on the floor before finding another one with his name on it. Lanzhan was rifling through his suitcase still, seeming to have better luck as he pulled out a fresh white t-shirt and a pair of black sweatpants. Weiying opened the suitcase, and immediately shut it again, his cheeks flaming.
Lanzhan looked up at him, brow creasing. “Is everything okay?”
“Oh, yeah, it’s great. It’s fine.”
Weiying gingerly lifted the lid again, grimacing at the contents. Laying on top was the lingerie Xichen had forced on him weeks ago when they had gone shopping together. I’m going to fucking kill him, Weiying thought irately.
