A sliver of warm sunlight woke me up on a summer Saturday morning. It found its way between the curtains and directly over my eyes as if it was a hand caressing me awake. My golden eyes fluttered open and I shifted beneath my covers as I yawned and stretched my arms straight above my head, nearly punching the wall in the process. I slowly sat up onto my elbows and lulled my head backwards to look at the clock on top of the headboard.

"Shit!" I gasped suddenly and chucked the sheets off of me as I launched out of the bed. I ripped around the room looking for my ankle boots. I immediately found one and shoved my foot in with no regard for the laces but the second boot was elusive. I heard a yawn behind me and spared a momentary glance at the bed as Bakugo yawned and emerged from the sheets I had thrown on him.

"What the hell are you doing waking me up?" He sat up and glanced behind him at the clock then groaned loudly. "It's six in the morning, you goddamn idiot!" He was exasperated but sounded sleepy as he rubbed his eye with his fist; more aggressively than he really should but this was Bakugo. He raised his leg from the bed to drape his other arm over his knee and watched me through hooded eyes.

"Boo hoo, princess." I grumbled as I looked for my missing boot.

"Who you calling princess, cat-face?!" He exploded but I just rolled my eyes.

"I'm a fox, moron." I calmly shot back as I crawled under his desk, my tail curling up into the air. The women, and occasional man, on my mother's side of the family had been born with fox traits for as long as we could remember: tail, ears, vertical slit pupils, sharp canines and claws were among the possibilities. I was no different and had them all.

I emerged from under the desk and looked at Bakugo with a pout. He was looking away from me with light pink dusting his cheeks. I smirked, fully aware of my voluptuous physique and the position I had been in a moment before. Even Bakugo, my best friend, recognized it.

I straightened my shirt - Bakugo's shirt really - and popped back up to my feet. When I spent the night in his room I almost always wore one of his t-shirts. I lifted one of his sweaters off the floor to check beneath it for the mythical boot but was frustrated when I couldn't find it.

"Where the hell is my other boot?" I put my hands on my hips and raged quietly to myself. I was thoroughly stumped. Bakugo flipped the sheets off of himself and got out of his bed. He pushed me aside and then got down onto the floor and looked under his bed. When he came back up he had the small black boot in his hand. I squealed a thank you and then snatched it from his hand.

"Why are you in such a rush to get out of here?" He really was clueless sometimes. I sat on the edge of the bed and pulled the recovered boot onto my awaiting foot.

"I overslept." I immediately started aggressively combing my fingers through my long purple hair until I couldn't feel any obvious knots. Then proceeded to do the same with my bushy fox tail.

Bakugo rose back to a standing position and stretched his arms high in the air. I stopped paying attention to my tail so I could watch him stretch each arm across his chest. I mindlessly nibbled on the corner of my lip. Even if there wasn't anything romantic going on between us, I was always up for admiring a well built guy.

"You know you don't actually have anywhere to be right now right?" He complained as he searched for some clothes to change into after I left. I put my hands on my hips.

"I gotta get back to my room before the others wake up. Unless you want to explain to them why I'm sneaking out in the early morning hours." Bakugo sat down in his desk chair and propped his feet up on the edge of the desk, crossing his ankles.

"We didn't do anything." He was so cavalier. Like any of them would believe it. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his sweater from the night before and pulled it down over me. The sweater was so big on me that it completely hid my pyjama shorts. He raised his brow at my thievery but said nothing about it.
