The Machine Apocalypse; When all Realms Collapse

Sigh...

The work just keeps coming at me... Especially since Morrigan returned.

I have to hold audiences for those who came fresh out of the incubation and finish the paperwork about their Jobs, salary, and taxes.

And it doesn't stop!

The people just keep coming. I'm already having audiences since yesterday.

"Your majesty, please straighten your back. We still have thousand nine-hundred and ninety-nine people left which have the right, and need, to meet their King.", Astarte said as she forcefully straightened my back.

"Yeah, yeah..., I responded as I done so, "But where did Morrigan find so many corpses? The outpost barely had thousand people at most. I already met more than five thousand people!"

"She also went to the villages around us, and those around the outpost, and wiped those from existence."

"Oh, that explains it."

"Anyways, the rest of the incoming people are those which have been selected as soldiers. It was their own choice to do so."

"Ah~ So those are those who crave for more power."

Well, it didn't surprise me. After all the incubated Synthrexians inherit the characteristics and abilities of the beings used for their creation.

The soldiers probably regretted their own weakness in the moment of their death which led to this strong craving for power in these newborns.

Well, even though I personally don't have anything against the incubation process, especially since it's our only way of reproducing without me doing it directly. But it is probably bad from an ethical point of view.

After all the Incubation sac, similar to the cocoon of a butterfly in terms of looks, needs to be fed living beings, or fresh corpses if not available, to be held alive and incubate properly. Especially intelligent life is needed at least once so the Synthrexian can also gain intelligence.

Of course, there are some people which crave for a child and can order a special incubation sac. Those are high quality and made with the DNA of their parents so the child gains their traits, like normal children do. Those children also incubate as babies, unlike like these in front of me which are born adult. But they still need to be fed living beings or fresh corpses to incubate properly which can be rather difficult without help, but my kingdom will provide help if needed.

But despite the ethical problem the Incubation is quite perfect.

For example.

If the incubation sac were to eat a butterfly, the Synthrexian would also be born with enhanced butterfly wings perfectly made for his body. Furthermore, if the Incubation sac would devour multiple different species in his incubation process, then the Synthrexian inside will gain the genes and characteristics of all those multiple species perfectly combined.

Thats because the Synthrexian DNA always strives for the most perfect combination.

But since we just had some normal villager the Synthrexians coming out weren't that unique...

Of course, we mixed each one of them with at least one animal.

As example this soldier in front of me.

His appearance resembles that of a humanoid cheetah, he's tall and slender, His chest and thighs are covered in white fur and his head is covered with long purple hair. Beneath his eyes are two purple lines, like those of a cheetah's and his limbs are definitely thicker than normally.
