Olysia would never admit it out loud but a small part of her had hoped they would have never found Alina. That their manhunt would be unsuccessful and Alina would live her life away in obscurity, away from the Little Palace and the Darkling, because that meant it was possible. That there was a way to escape the Darklings' grasp but if the Sun Summoner couldn't even escape, what chance did Olysia have?
She finished locking Alina up and looked away in shame. She just couldn't watch Ivan drag her down beneath the hull of the ship.

Olysia refused to go down to ensure the chains were secured. She didn't want to see Alina because she was so sure her guilt would eat her alive from the inside out but she was more scared of the shadows that threatened to consume her if she didn't. Olysia knew she could only refuse to go down so many times before it became suspicious. So she decided to go down and do it right before Genya and Ivan were scheduled to come check on Alina. Maybe it won't be as bad when Alina couldn't hurl insults at the girl.
She made her way down the hatch and found a girl with dark hair and golden eyes. Olysia recognized her as the girl that Toyla was always around. She assumed it was his sister, Tamar. She inspected the girl who had taken a defensive stance as if expecting a fight. It was clear to Olysia that she was on watch.
"I'd hurry up, the others might care to know why you're down here a little more than I do." Olysia said nonchalantly.
The girl hesitated for a moment, but ultimately left to warn whoever was in the room they needed to leave.
Olysia wasn't surprised when her eyes caught a teal coat. He froze for a split second before reaching for his pocket where he kept his gun. He never pulled it out but Olysia knew he was holding it. Olysia frowned at the action before she shook it off. She looked in his eyes and saw confusion swirling around them at her lack of a reaction, but that was because it made sense to her, it was his ship after all. Olysia knew he had something more planned, she had caught all of his secretive glances he sent Toyla and Tamar. Olysia knew better than to expect Sturmhond to check on the girl because it was the right thing to do.
She moved her eyes to Toyla who held a blank face and back to Tamar. She moved in front of Sturmhond swiftly, nodding at Olysia.
Olysia dipped her head in response and looked away, waiting until she heard their footsteps fade away. She finally opened the door and rechecked the chains, making sure they were still on her. She had finished her inspection the moment Ivan burst through the door with Genya trailing behind him.
"She's secured." Olysia announced, making her way out of the dingy room. She squinted as she opened the hatch, the light momentarily blinding her.
She found a small uncrowded spot along the prow or the ship and sat down. She was fidgeting with her fingers, practically hearing Baghra berating her for doing so but she couldn't help the nervous energy she was experiencing.
She stopped the second she felt someone's gaze on her that was practically burning a hole right through her skull. She tried ignoring it, she really did, but knowing exactly who it was, there was something so tempting about the idea of glaring at the man. She decided to look away from the direction of the man observing her every move.
