OffGun June Collection of Drabbles 2023

"What do you want?" Pick growled as soon as he picked up the call.

" I just want to know, how's the date going?" Porsche's annoying voice echoed through the speaker. 

"Good, now get lost." Pick ended the call. Rome looked at him questioningly. He shook his head, assuring his date the call wasn't important. Rome sent him a warm smile and continued playing with the puppies. They spend hours taking care of the tiny dogs and Pick even shows Rome the other animals. He took him to the small cafeteria that was part of the shelter, too. Time flew with his lovely companion. Whenever Rome giggled, touched, or looked at him, his heart skipped a beat. Pick newer felt like this before. 

The wave of sadness washed over him when he realized it was time to take Rome back home. The drive back was silent. Pick didn't want this day to end. Parking in front of Rome's building, he turned to the shorter boy. 

"It was a nice date, P'Pick." Rome smiled.

"I enjoyed it." He added, fidgeting with a seat belt. 

"I liked it too." Pick managed to say. The car fell into silence again. 

"I should go," Rome whispered, unbuckling the seat belt. Pick watched him as he opened the car door, ready to get out, and his heart squeezed painfully.

"Wait." He grabbed Rome's hand, pulling him closer to his body. 

"Can I take you on another date?" Pick asked. The nod from Rome made him happy, spiking his confidence in him. Leaning even closer to Rome's face, he didn't hesitate and captured his full lips in a quick kiss. 

"See you tomorrow at work." Pick said after they separated. 

"Tomorrow." Rome agreed, jumping out of the car with a giant smile and red cheeks adorning his pretty face.
