As Lu Rang explained the solution to Ling Cheng through the phone , the latter started to feel extremely sleepy as he was busy baking cookies for tomorrow as they planned to hang out . Lu Rang heard some soft snores from his mobile and was amused as he listened to Ling Cheng's soft breaths from the phone .

He texted Ling Cheng after hanging up his phone and told him that since he fell asleep , he'll just explain it to him tomorrow when they meet .

Which brings us back to right now where Ling Cheng and Lu Rang were busy playing video games . Lu Li heard the distinct chattering as he tiredly walked out of his room and caught a whiff of the delicious aroma and went towards his gege to ask for some from his friend. Lu Rang heard some footsteps and turned back only to see his genius younger brother reaching out to take a cookie from the box , he out of reflex lightly hit the hand and as his younger brother let out a yelp only then did Ling Cheng looked away from the game and gave the younger boy a soft smile .

Seeing this , Lu Rang felt a twinge of jealousy pricking at his heart and scoffed loudly and then told his younger brother to not take things without the owner's permission.

"Oh no , it's okay Rang Rang . I don't mind" assured the puppy-like boy with a comforting smile .

But as Lu Rang began to feel more jealous , he hastily and snappily asked his brother to go away and leave them alone . As Lu Li was sneakily trying to steal the cookie again , Lu Rang hit his hand and caused Lu Li to flinch and knock down the cookie tin which landed on his toe .

"Ouch ouch , awww . It hurts "whimpered Lu Li and the loud bang of the cookie tin falling caught the attention of his parents who were in their separate rooms . Thus leading them to come out . When Xi Hua(idk his mom's name i just gave her my own bc she sucs ) took a long glance at the scene , she wasted no time in blaming Lu Rang and scolding him for treating his brother badly and for being so useless .

Ling Cheng saw his stubborn and cold best friend who let his head down and continued to get scolded by his mom . He couldn't stand watching his Rang Rang get torn down by words from his biological mother .

"Ayi(auntie) , it wasn't his fault I just got surprised when I saw Lu Li behind me and jumped and knocked down the tin and made it land on his toe . I apologize for my mistake and Rang's not useless , he's a good person"defended Ling Cheng who covered for Lu Rang.

Lu Rang who's never heard someone defend him from his parents was awestruck as he watched Him take the blame . His parents paid no mind to Ling Cheng and continued to belittle Lu Rang.

Ling Cheng couldn't maintain his anger anymore but was still polite enough to tell the Ayi that he and Lu Rang had somewhere to go and softly but quickly took his wrist and pulled him out of that house .

After they left , Ling Cheng took Lu Rang to a nearby playground as he saw how hard his best friend was trying to not break down .As Lu Rang sat down on the swing set , Ling Cheng didn't sit but instead stood in front of him .He then wrapped his arms around Lu Rang's head and took his body softly into his warm embrace . Only then did Lu Rang break down into small little sobs and hiccups .

"Sh sh sh , it's all going to be alright .I'm here for you . Just let it all out "whispered Ling Cheng to him as he bent down to kiss his head and caressed Lu Rang's hair .

A few moments later , the sobs ceased to little sniffles and some hiccups . Ling Cheng took out his handkerchief and whipped Lu Rang's face as there was snot and dry tears all over it .

"What did you cry so much , Rang Rang?"asked Ling Cheng in a soft voice .

"No one's ever defended me against my parents before . I don't know why I scolded Lu Li . He just has everything I want to have .Smartness and my parents' love but I can't give you to him . I can't give you to anyone . Please don't leave me for him"sniffled Lu Rang.

"You silly cat , i would never leave you for anyone"comforted Ling Cheng as he squatted down to fix Lu Rang's hair and wiped more snot off his nose as well.

"Now how about we go to the snack shop? It looks like it's going to rain as well. We should get some iced tea and go to a park and just chat ,hm? How does that sound to y0u?"asked Ling Cheng gently .

"Yes please but i left my wallet at home "answered our male lead as he looked at his shoes .

"It's fine , let it be my treat to cheer up my sad cat ."cheekily replied Ling Cheng who tried to brighten up the atmosphere and boy did it work .Lu Rang laughed softly and nodded .

As they left the playground , Ling Cheng was softly holding Lu Rang's wrist and tugging at him but on their way to the snack shop it started raining softly .

Not wanting to get sick , Ling Cheng told Lu Rang to race him there and as Ling Cheng did sports he had far more agility than Lu Rang and arrived at the snack shop with just slightly wet hair .

As he shook his hair and ruffled it with his hands to try and dry it , a cute and small girl was just a few meters away from him and was stunned to see such a pretty boy .Yes pretty not hot or handsome but the type of pretty you'd want to paint and admire.

The cute girl choked on her drink as she heard the melodious laughter of the pretty boy.

'Is he an angel sent from heaven?His visual is breathtaking' thought the girl but as the boy reached past behind her to get into the shop he gave a brief smile at her and went inside the shop .

Ba dum ba dum , her heart skipped a beat as she felt like the world was caving in . Not once in her life had she seen such a sweet smile . Dare she say , it could even be idol worthy.The girl became awe struck and glanced back inside to see the pretty boy buying 2 bottles of iced tea and some chips.

"Wait what?!2??I should have known boys like him are taken of course" muttered the girl as she swayed a bit on her feet but she saw a figure coming in the distance not running at all .

"Is he dumb?It's raining, why is he walking?"muttered the girl out loud . The guy may have heard her as he just stood in front of the shop but not entering .

'Hm this guy's weird, why's he not buying?' The girl was silently judging him in her mind but that question was soon answered as the pretty boy from before walked out after paying.

The pretty boy gave the chips and one of the two bottles to the other one .

Ahh so he single cheered Su zai zai silently .
