(Y/N)'s first morning in the manor was spent getting settled in, their grandparents were determined to get everything sorted out with as little hassle as possible. School registration was a breeze, and (Y/N) sat with their grandmother over lunch and made a shopping list of all the things (Y/N) would need or want for school and their room. The rest of the afternoon was spent on the streets of Paris with Owen, he insisted on being the one to escort (Y/N) on their shopping adventure.
They almost felt guilty the more bags they had to carry, every swipe of Owen's credit card felt more and more like they were taking advantage of their kindness. (Y/N) knew they could afford it. Hell, this was probably chump change for them, but they still couldn't help but feel guilty for the amount of money being poured into them. It was a little overwhelming.
They never understood the phrase "Shop 'til you drop" until they finally got back in the Bentley. It felt like their legs were about to give out by the time they stretched out across the leather seats. Part of them was a little disappointed not to see any superhero stuff in action, but they were relieved that nothing bad happened. Owen laughed as (Y/N) sighed with relief.
"Tired, huh, kiddo?" Owen laughed as he finished putting everything in the trunk of the car
(Y/N) nodded, "Who needs the gym when you can just go shopping for six hours. I don't even remember half the shit we got, Owen."
"Welcome to the life of the fabulously wealthy, kid." Owen smiled "Don't worry. If it eases your conscience, I always donate an amount equal to whatever I spend whenever I go on shopping sprees like this one. Plus we didn't get our money from exploiting anyone unlike most billionaires."
"It helps this much" (Y/N) held up their fingers barely a tenth of an inch apart.
Owen rolled his eyes with a fond smile as he drove them home.

(Y/N) finally took a bit to rest once most of their new stuff was put away. A few boxes were piled up in the corner, but their arms were getting tired and they were too prideful to ask anyone for help. (Y/N) admired their new leather bag sitting next to their desk, filled with all of their new school supplies. It was exciting to look at such a pristine room (who were they kidding, it was basically an apartment. It had a mini kitchen, living room, and its own bathroom) knowing it was all theirs.
(Y/N) took one last look at their school registry, making sure all of their paperwork was in order. They'd heard their grandmother say something about a student tour once they got there, so they dug through their papers to see if the person had been assigned yet.

(Y/N) shrugged, at least they had a name to go off of. They'd have to take their student ID photo once they got there, but that was easy enough. It wasn't their first time starting a new school in the middle of the year, but (Y/N) was hoping that this would be the last time they'd need to. It was always stressful. The best way they'd ever explained it was like being a character that joined a show after like five seasons. It throws of everyone's rhythm.
They decided to spend less time stressing over the inevitable and look into something more entertaining. Owen would not stop talking about Ladybug, Cat Noir, and the other heroes in the city while they were shopping. So, before (Y/N) knew it, they were looking into the cultural phenomenon.
Most people would jump to Google or the News. Not (Y/N), they went straight to social media to scope out how crazy the fanbase was. For the most part, it was relatively tame considering the other fandoms (Y/N) had witnessed, but it was concerning how quickly some of the teenage superheroes were body shamed or objectified in various forums.
