A Plan is Brewing

Juleka looked at Rose and then at (Y/N). It was obvious that they were trying to take up as little space as possible as they pulled out their sketchbook. Juleka noticed a few cityscapes and other random doodles as they flicked through the pages, but didn't want to invade the privacy of something as personal as a sketchbook. 

Rose was clearly struggling not to talk to the new student, but Juleka talked to her about how sometimes anxious people need a minute to just exist in a new space before being interacted with. Juleka noticed (Y/N)'s gaze flicking to Rose occasionally, so they did want to talk to them. Juleka wasted no time and nudged Rose, inviting the extrovert to adopt another introvert. 

Rose looked at Juleka and waited exactly long enough to get a nod of confirmation before learning towards (Y/N) "Woah," Rose saw them sketching some flowers "Those are really cool!"

(Y/N) looked up, a bashful smile speaking across their face. "Thanks!" 

"I'm Rose," Rose said with a smile before pointing to Juleka "This is my girlfriend Juleka."

(Y/N) smiled, their shoulders visibly sinking with relief. as Rose kept talking, eventually getting back to what she was telling Juleka about, but this time including (Y/N). Juleka couldn't help but noticed how coincidental all this timing was, and the more they got to know (Y/N) the more she was sure that Luka would love them. Maybe he didn't need to wait until the concert to find someone new. 

In Juleka's mind, a plan started to brew.

Before they knew it, the class period was over and they were heading out to lunch together. (Y/N) felt a pang of guilt, realizing they'd be ditching Marinette. But Marinette actually gave (Y/N) a smile and a thumbs up when she saw them walking with Rose and Juleka, so they supposed it was fine. The rest of the day flew by laughing with Rose and Juleka, today was definitely a win

"Say," Juleka asked as they left their last class for the day "what kind of music do you listen to?" 

"Oh," (Y/N) laughed, suddenly a little nervous. "A little bit of everything, if I'm being honest. If I like it, I like it, you know?"

Juleka nodded, smiling "Well, our band has a concert this Saturday if you're up for it. A lot of the class goes, my older brother is in the band, too, it's a good time. It's a good place to make friends and relax." her voice was relaxed, clearly not trying to pressure (Y/N) into going out if that's not their vibe, but truly meaning the invite. 

(Y/N) could have hugged Juleka right then, they tried to stifle their excitement "That sounds fun, I haven't been to a concert in way too long."

Rose squealed, practically jumping in their seat "That's great! I'll text you the details, let me give you my number," she said, digging in her bag for paper. She scribbled a number in a violently pink glitter ink and handed it to (Y/N) "I'm excited to be friends, (Y/N)! You seem super cool!"

Juleka nodded in agreement "I'll make sure you have a good time. My brother will, too. He's a nice guy, the rest of the band is too. They actually wanted to sit with us at lunch but we didn't want to overwhelm you on your first day." she smiled, hugging (Y/N) goodbye "Text us, okay?" 

"Okay!" (Y/N) smiled putting Rose's number in their phone and texting her the second they got in their car. They were practically bouncing with excitement, today was infinitely better than they thought it'd be.

Juleka smiled at Rose as (Y/N)'s car pulled away "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

"That Luka has to meet them?" Rose asked 

Juleka nodded "I know we have our usual pre-concert routine but...how do you feel about adding a guest?"

Rose nodded, "YES!"

Juleka pulled out her phone, texting Luka
