All he saw, however, was a burning face redder than a tomato used as a murder weapon.
"I-I HAVE TO USE THE BATHROOM!" he said, turning stiff as a plank. Immediately, he slipped past OJ and rushed into the bathroom before hurriedly sliding the door closed and locking it. The three other boys shared some confused looks before merely shrugging it off.
Paper pressed his palm to his chest and paced around the tiled floor for several seconds, his breathing now racing out of control. He stopped in front of the mirror and leaned forward, placing both hands on the counter and shaking his head at his own reflection. "Why am I like this..." he thought as he felt his heart about to explode out of his chest. "I can't do this."
"Hey, Paper!" Black Hole's voice called from the bedroom. "Tree and I already had our stuff set up near the window bed, so you and OJ are sleeping in the other one. OJ's already got his stuff by the wall, so I put your stuff between the beds. We're gonna go ahead and get ready to go to sleep now, so turn off the lights when you get out, okay? Thanks."
He planted his face in his palms and let out a loud, concerning wail that devolved into a frustrated, sulking yell. Then, he sighed and stared at his own disappointed face in the mirror.
"I'M TOO GAY FOR THIS. SOMEONE HELP ME."

A few hours later...
Bracelety softly pushed the door to her bedroom open and peeked inside. To her relief, the lights were already out and the other three seemed asleep. She tiptoed inside and gently closed the door behind her.
After evading Ice Cube all day out of fear and not wanting to see her idol's disappointed or furious face after their incident down at the arcade, Bracelety was feeling exhausted. Liy had thankfully let her get mostly ready for bed in her room, but once Pillow had called Liy to start planning their bank robbery, she was forced back into the hallway.
Now, at the stroke of midnight, she had finally mustered up enough courage to go back to her own room to sleep. Her plan was to simply sleep until Ice Cube left the room; only then would she consider "waking up."
Once she had quietly done some last-minute bed preparations and organized her suitcase, Bracelety turned back to the beds, and her face fell as she spotted Barf Bag's glasses and Naily's signature cat-ears headband on the same side of the nightstand in the middle. She shifted her gaze to the other bed and, sure enough, found the empty half of the bed—right next to the sleeping Ice Cube.
Normally, it would have been a dream come true for her. But the last thing Bracelety was looking forward to was seeing Ice Cube's vengeful face the first thing in the morning. Before she could begin to think of other plans, her exhausted body got the better of her muscles and was practically screaming at her to get herself in that bed right that moment.
Quiet as a mouse, she sneaked up to the side of the bed, pulled the covers away slightly, and slipped under them before pulling them back over her body. She tensed up for a moment and stayed silent, but breathed a sigh of relief when the only noise that came from Ice Cube's direction were soft inhales and exhales.
Bracelety laid her head on her pillow and closed her eyes. She was about to drift off to sleep when she heard Ice Cube make a weird noise. Suddenly, she felt a hand grip her shoulder tightly and pull her backward. Before she could react, she found herself flipped around and facing the girl next to her in the bed. She could hardly process the fact that she was staring right at Ice Cube's face.
Ice Cube's sleeping face, that is.
She didn't dare move, for fear of waking Ice Cube up. But at the same time, thoughts were rapidly zooming through her head, trying to answer the question of how or why Ice Cube would pull her in her sleep.
Then, she got the surprise of her life when Ice Cube, still sleeping, slipped her free hand under Bracelety's side and pulled Bracelety closer to her—so close that they were now touching foreheads. She wrapped her hands around Bracelety's back, yet remained as unconscious as ever.
Bracelety could feel Ice Cube's soft exhales on her face, and her mind caught up to the situation in time for her to start blushing madly. She had kept her arms awkwardly pinned to her sides, unsure of anything she could do with them that wouldn't wake Ice Cube up. But before she had realized it, they had drifted over to Ice Cube's body and were in position to embrace her right back.
She stopped and contemplated what she was doing, if she could even understand it. If this went wrong, the damage to her in the morning would likely be more than just a slapped face. But even sleeping back-to-back with Ice Cube would have sent her jumping for joy just last week. Yet here she was, with her idol in a warm mutual embrace and with her face so close she could kiss her, and she couldn't bring herself to even move of her own will.
So her body, conditioned by her habits of the years past, decided that if Bracelety herself wasn't going to take advantage of this opportunity, then it would for her. Her arms subconsciously hugged Ice Cube and gently massaged her back through the fabric of her soft shirt. Bracelety's eyes widened and she scanned Ice Cube's face for any signs of wakefulness.
But to her relief, all she saw were Ice Cube's tightened lips upturning into a contented smile.
Bracelety finally managed to relax and smiled back. She closed her eyes and pressed her forehead to Ice Cube's, drifting off into restful sleep. At this point, she didn't even care if Ice Cube killed her in the morning.
Because this night together with her was already worth it.
