"I am not speaking with you." I grumble.
"And why are you not speaking with me?" he leans his body to some poor student's locker, an amused smile is playing on his lips.
"Because you left this morning though you'd promised me you wouldn't!"
I wrench open my locker with enough force that would put Thor to shame. I keep taking my things with my back to Ryan. I don't think I can see his face without yelling right now. I don't want to sound like a clingy housewife, okay? So I'd rather be silent though my heart tells me to give this man a piece of my mind.
"Come on, I've left you a note. Your brothers would have killed me if they'd found out I was there."
"Yes, his brother would have skinned you alive." Ash, who has watched me and Ryan bantering, quips in.
"See? Do you want me to die?"
Stupid Ash. Can't he see that he's only giving more excuses for Ryan right now?
Since I'm still not speaking with him, I close my locker and walk to my first class without saying anything. I've only gone a few steps when Ryan already matches my steps beside me.
"Aw, come on babe, for how long will you give me the silent treatment?" he takes my hand into his much larger one and holds it gently but firmly. He won't let it go so I begrudgingly stop walking.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I give him the best glare that I can. But based on the amused twinkle in his eyes, it seems that my glare only gives the opposite effect.
"You slept like a baby that I didn't have the heart to wake you up. You are quite a snorer by the way."
"I did not snore!" My cheeks turn red when he laughs. I know that I snore all the time when I sleep. My brother has never failed to remind me that one little fact whenever I slept in their bed.
"Yes, sweetheart. You did. But it's okay. I find it really adorable. I don't even mind the little drool stain that you left on my shirt," he flicks my nose gently while my mouth is agape in shock.
"I drooled? Oh God, it must have been the first time I drooled! I have never drooled all my whole life!"
Lie. I drool all the time. My brothers have to change their pillow sheets regularly since I always drool on them.
"So, does this mean that we're even now?" Ryan looks at me hopefully. I know that I can't continue my silent treatment to him now that I know I've left a drool stain on his shirt. So I give him a small nod, making him pull me close and hug me tight.
"Ow, Ryan, I can't breathe, you hulk!" I hit his back as his body squashes mine.
He kisses the side of my face softly before he finally lets me go. I rub my ribs in exaggerated motions after being squished by his large frame. My pout soon turns into a surprised gasp when Ryan suddenly kneels down on one knee and reaches in his pocket.
"Dan Sanders, will you go to the prom with me?" he fishes out the ticket to our school's prom while waiting for my answer.
I stand there in disbelief while other students stop walking and watch the two of us. I don't even remember that our school's prom is in this week, so when Ryan asks me to go with him, my jaw drops.
"Sweetheart, my knee starts hurting. So can you please answer my question quickly?"
I snap out of my shock and disbelief when I hear his impatient voice. I quickly nod my head, a wide smile plastered on my face.
