You wouldn't say that your life was super stressful, not anymore, but still, sleep was the only time you really ever felt at peace. Visions of gumdrops, sunshine, rainbows, and other such happy things danced around in your head. It was nice. A time of day when you didn't have to worry about anything, where you could just exist. Except when you had a nightmare of course, but those were rare. It was safe to say that sleep was your favorite time of day. Which is why you may have freaked out a little when bright white headlights shined through your window in the middle of the goddamned night.

You fought the immediate panic that surfaced, telling yourself that's it nothing serious, and, even if it was, panicking wouldn't help a bit. Still, the speed at which you went down the stairs wasn't exactly safe or slow. Of course, all the panic quickly turned into anger when you saw just who was pulling into your workshop at 12 am.

Standing right there, a confident smirk on his face as if he wasn't doing anything wrong, was your "best" friend. "XACHERIE! This better be fucking important!"

Said Xacherie flinched at your loudness, "Quiet down, doesn't your dad have to sleep?"

You exhaled through your nose, "He's not home right now. Why are you here?"

Xach gestured to his right and your eyes finally landed on the cherry-red Aston Martin sitting in your garage and covered in scratches. So many scratches. Christ, what had Xach done to this poor car? Whatever it was you honestly didn't care about at the moment. What you cared about was sleeping.

"I promise it's important, N/N."

"I seriously doubt that," you said, but nevertheless you made your way down the rickety staircase connecting the upper level of your house with your garage because Xach was your friend and you were nice.

Despite the rude awakening it wasn't hard to get back into working headspace. You might have loved sleep, but once you were awake you were awake, whether you liked it or not. All the more reason to be mad at Xach.

Glaring at Xach you made your way to the car and took a look around. The damage appeared to be completely cosmetic. Leave it to Xach to wake you up at midnight to buff his car. Though you were still gonna help him Xach was being a bit inconsiderate he was still your friend and you were nice.

"How'd you get your hands on this car anyway?" You asked, gathering up your buffing supplies.

"He's not mine, if that's what you're thinking," Xach responded nonchalantly.

"Oh God," you froze just as you were about to start buffing. "Did you steal this car?" you questioned turning to face Xach, "I am not gonna be an accomplice!"

Xach waved his hand dismissively. "Relax, relax! I'll have you know I have full permission to be doing this right now. Don't worry about it."

Bullshit, you thought hand on your hip. "Oh yeah? And did you have full permission to scratch it to hell?"

"Hey! That wasn't my fault! We got into a bit of a fender bender, ok? And it was totally on the other person, not me!" Xach huffed, clearly annoyed. Like he had the right to be annoyed when he was the one to wake you up in the middle of the goddamned night. "Now could you please just start buffing already?"

"UGH! You're so entitled!" At this point your blood was boiling, but you knew you were going to end up buffing anyway because even if Xach was a complete and utter asshole he was still your friend and you were nice. You were still angry though. "And a fender bender! How in the world could you possibly get this scratched up in a simple fender bender!

"Woah woah! Please don't hit the car!"

You were so angry you didn't even notice your hand on its way to slam down on the car until Xach stopped you. You stared at the scratched-up finish and breathed in, out. Right. Don't hit the car, it's innocent in all of this, and wrecking it would just be more work for you.

"Go get something to eat from the kitchen, or take a nap or something. This will take a few hours."

Xach didn't groan or complain when he got up as you expected, and when he got to the door he looked at you over his shoulder, "Thanks, by the way, I really appreciate it. You're a good friend."

Then he was gone, off to do who knows what. You didn't really care, all you cared about at the moment was faxing this car up as soon as possible and then getting through the day so you could hopefully sleep.

With one last sigh, you put on one of your favorite movies, Electric Dreams, and got to work.
