My eyes scan over my limited wardrobe as I search for something to wear to dinner. Riley left me with no information, was it a sit down fancy meal with three different types of spoons? Was it a barbeque and the whole neighborhood was invited and we were gonna stand around in the backyard and play corn hole all night?

In the end I choose a casual light green dress with brown sandals I got on a small shopping spree I somehow found the time for in my last location.

After throwing on the dress, I run back to the kitchen to stop the timer and pull out the break and bake cookies I bought an hour ago. I had to make something so I didn't show up empty handed.I leave the cookies out to cool while I fix my hair and update my make-up. I check the clock. Five fifty-five. I don't want to be early but a couple minutes late is usually good right? Well when you're going to someone's house that isn't right next door.

By the time I'm done mentally arguing with myself, it's six o'clock on the dot, so I put the cookies in a plastic container and walk over to Mrs. Joan and Riley's house.

"Spencer!" Riley greets me at the door, engulfing me in a hug like we're childhood friends that are seeing each other for the first time since we separated for college. When, in fact, we had just seen each other a couple of hours ago. But I'm not complaining, he gives great hugs.

"Riley!" I say, as equally excited before letting go of him and smiling at his family behind him.

"Hi, I'm Toby. I don't think we've properly met," another tall boy maybe a year or two younger than me smiles and holds out his hand.

"Spencer," I say, shaking his extended hand.

"And I'm Connor," the third brother says to me, also shaking my hand.

"Hello Spencer, welcome to our home. I see you've met the welcoming committee," Joan laughs as she appears from around the corner. I laugh with her as another male, older than the boys though, comes around the same corner.

"Hello, you must be Spencer," he shakes my hand, so that's where the boys must get their manners from. "No wonder you're all Ri has talked about since yesterday morning, you are very pretty," he complements as my cheeks flush.

"Dad," Riley draws out, his cheeks also filling with color as I steal a glance at him.

"Why thank you, Mr. McDonough," I say politely.

"You brought cookies!" Riley says, trying to change the subject.

"Oh how wonderful!" Mrs. Joan says as I hand over the container of cookies. "Well dinner should be ready in ten minutes and I know Riley is just dying to show you their music so boys-"

"On it."

"Follow us." Toby and Connor instruct falling into place as they run up the stairs ahead of me.

"Ignore them, they're always like this. Come with me," Riley says, less military-like, nodding his head and directing me up the stairs. I follow him and find that the house is set up just like mine, however where the balcony is in my house has been replaced with flooring and turned into a recording studio.

"This is so cool," I say, looking around at all the guitars hanging on the walls, the drum set sitting off to left and three mic stands to the right.

"Isn't it? We just got the floor put in last year with the money we earned from our tour. Before that, all of this was crammed into Connor's room," Riley pointed to our right at the door down the hall.

"ConnorRileyTobySpencer!" Joan calls from the bottom of the stairs, as if all of our names were one word. "Dinners ready!"

"After dinner, after the song, I got something special to show you," Riley leaned in and winked before following his brothers down stairs.
