Chapter 39

She ducked, landing a few punches before aiming a kick at the alien's side. The female alien staggered backward but managed to catch Y/n's leg, shoving her away hard and making Y/n fly and crash into a nearby car. She rushed to Y/n and aimed the pronged spear tip at Y/n's chest, attempting to stab her. Y/n pushed back hard with her wisps though she could feel her head starting to hurt, not keen on letting the alien repeat her earlier trick. Feeling the spear move too much to her liking, the alien pulled the spear away and kicked Y/n hard in the stomach. Satisfied at the sight of Y/n struggling to get up, she went to look for her target.

Y/n sat up as fast as she could, wondering why she felt so weak. Could it be because the stone was—At the corner of her eyes, she saw rubble falling off a nearby tower, looking up to see Vision and the hooded alien falling onto a rooftop. She didn't know where Wanda or the female alien was, so she decided to go to Vision. She landed on the roof, blasting the hooded alien as she quickly checked on Vision who was lying down on the tiled roof in pain. "Are you okay? Can you get up? We need to leave."

Vision shook his head, pushing up from the roof. "I'm fine, go and find Wanda. Y/n was about to protest when she heard a pained yelp from somewhere below them. "Go!" Vision said again, turning to fight the hooded alien. A blast of yellow beam suddenly shot across the air and Y/n instantly knew who it was from. Confident that Vision knew how to hold his ground, Y/n flew up, finally spotting Wanda and the female alien on the ground. The beam refracted and slowly headed to a vehicle near them. In a panic, Y/n flew fast, shielding Wanda with her powers as the vehicle exploded and kicked the female alien on her way down.

The alien rolled away from the hit and Y/n charged at her. She threw several hard punches which managed to force the alien down before she pushed the alien's spear against her neck. Wanda tried to use her wisps to help push the weapon down, but the alien managed to move out from under Y/n before she could do so. Y/n's grip on the weapon falters and she falls to the ground as the alien managed to roll away. She aimed the spear quickly at Y/n's face, the pronged tips lighting up again. Wanda managed to pull Y/n away with her wisp just as the blast shot across the ground. She was too focused on helping Y/n that she didn't realize that the female alien was already fast approaching her side.

"Wanda!" Y/n yelled. Wanda followed Y/n's line of sight and managed to block the spear in time with her powers. Y/n got up and rushed to get behind the female alien. She pulled the spear again to the alien's neck with her wisps, holding it in place as the female alien fought to escape her.

Vision's scream filled the air, distracting them. Y/n cried out in pain as she fought the searing pain in her head. She could feel her grip on the alien's weapon slipping but she desperately held on. "Y/n?!" Wanda asked, confused that Y/n was reacting that way.

"Go help him, he's injured! I got this one!" Y/n said, gritting her teeth as the alien struggled against her. "Go now, Wanda, please!" Wanda left, slightly reluctant to leave Y/n. Just as Wanda flew away, Y/n used her powers to gain momentum, swinging the female alien sideways before throwing her through a burning vehicle. She walked toward the alien as she tried to get up. She kicked the alien in the rib, pressing down with her wisps as the alien struggled. "I don't know where you came from, but this was a huge mistake on your part," Y/n said. The blue wisps gathered around her arms, applying more pressure on the alien.

A sudden sharp pain filled her head out of nowhere as Y/n cried out, feeling herself slowly getting weaker. The blue wisps started disappearing as the alien called her spear and stabbed Y/n's thigh. Y/n screamed as she felt the spear tip puncture through, unable to react much with the way her head felt. Y/n fell to the ground and the alien stepped on her leg to remove the spear. She lifted the weapon, aimed it at Y/n's chest like she did before, and pushed down hard. Y/n blocked the attack with a weak shield and the blade slipped sideways, slashing the side of Y/n's torso instead. Using what she had left, Y/n held the spear in place with her powers as the alien stepped on her furiously bleeding wound.
