*A/N: I'm paraphrasing this whole scene cause I don't feel like typing it all. Plus, the quicker we get to Spot the better hehe*
"Ain't no way," I say.
"Why not?" Jack asks, looking up at me. He looks at the rest of the newsies. "Why can't we go on strike? We go together, we're a union."
"No, we're just a bunch of angry kids with no money," Davey speaks up. "Jack, it isn't going to work."
"Well, we get the word out to all the other Newsies, and it will! The city runs because of us, Dave." He looks at me. "You think it's gonna work?"
I shrug. "If we organize." Mush slaps my shoulder. I ignore him. "If the strike is important to ya Jack, I's with you."
"Yeah, we's with you, Jack," Racetrack speaks up. I smile at him, and he nods.
"What da ya say, Dave? You in?" Jack asks, standing up and turning towards Davey.
Davey looks around at all of us and then back at Jack. He sighs. "I guess I'm in."
We all cheer and head out of the gates to the square. After singing (because that's normal, right?) about how we can't back down and Pulitzer won't win, we head to the World's office building.
"Alright, fellas," Jack starts. "We gotta get the word out so you have to be..." He looks at Davey.
"Ambassadors," Davey says.
"Right, you gotta be embastards!" We all chuckle at his mispronunciation of the word.
"I got Harlem," Kid Blink says.
"I'll take Midtown," Racetrack adds.
"Hey Jack, I'll take the Bowery," Mush says. He grabs my arm, but I swat his hand away and stay. Mush stares at me then looks back at Jack.
Jack sends people off to other places. "So, what about Brooklyn? Who wants Brooklyn?" Nobody says anything. "C'mon guys, Spot Conlon's territory!" Nobody says anything again. "What's the matta, you scared of Brooklyn?"
"Hey, we ain't scared of Brooklyn!" Boots says. "It's Spot Conlon who makes us a little nevouis."
"Well, he don't make me nevouis," Jack says. "So, you and me Boots, we'll go to Brooklyn."
"I'll go!" I shout, raising my hand.
Mush yanks it down. "No, you ain't, you going with me to the Bowery."
I pull my arm out of his grip. "Mush, it ain't that big of a deal. Spot Conlon won't hurt me, plus if he tries to, I'll hurt him back."
Mush sighs and glances at Jack. Jack nods. "I'll take of her, don't worry."
"Fine. But be careful," Mush says, looking at me.
I nod. "Yeah, I will."
Mush takes one last look at Jack and then runs off to the Bowery. I step up besides Jack.
"And Dave can keep us company," Jack says, swinging his arm around Davey's shoulders.
The boys cheer and the then head off to other places. The guys and I start heading towards Brooklyn.
