-Amily's POV-

October is here and we host Annie's family over our house for her birthday dinner. Mags hasn't been doing well so she isn't able to join us but we stop by her place afterwards and bring her some food. Her age is catching up to her and the doctor thinks she has early stage Alzheimer's but her physical health is ok given all she's been through. It's been especially rough on Finnick given how close they are.

Later that week, Finnick decides we don't go on enough dates so he decides to host a picnic for us on the beach. He tells me to get dressed up and leaves me to get ready while he goes to set up. I put on a black wrap dress and tie my hair up so it's out of my face. I'm too eager to get to the picnic so I do minimal makeup, opting to keep my face mostly natural.

My breath catches in my throat as I step out onto our back deck. Finnick has scattered flower petals on the ground, making a path to where the picnic is set up. He's wearing a nicer than normal outfit and he looks amazing. We should do dates more often.

I walk down the path to the beach, the sun setting on the horizon. Finnick meets me at the bottom of the stairs and grabs my hand, walking me over the the picnic blanket and food.

Before letting us sit down, he grabs my hands and pulls me towards him.

"Amily," he starts and I begin to realize what's happening.

"For the past four years you have been everything to me. You are smart, caring, and funny and you make me a better person."

I'm trying really hard not to cry at this point as I look at him. I have to stand a bit away from him to look up at his face as he's a solid 9" taller than me.

"We've been through so much together and I honestly can't imagine doing life without you." he states as he gets down on one knee. You are definitely crying now.

"Amily Maria Tides," he says, looking up at you with his green eyes. "Will you make me the happiest man in all of the world and marry me?" He pulls a beautiful vintage ring from his pocket and holds it out to me.

"Yes!" I exclaim, honestly in shock. "Of course I will."

He beams as he slides the ring onto my finger, before standing up and kissing me. I hear people cheering and I look up to our back deck to see the rest of the victors as well as Annie. He pulls me in for a hug and I can't help but want to live in this moment forever. It's amazing how he keeps me in the present and makes me feel so safe.

Our friends leave and we sit down to enjoy our food. Mimi made us sandwiches which is good because I don't know if Finnick is a good enough cook to make them himself. I lay on his shoulder, watching the last of the sunset while we sit and eat.

He grabs my hand to look at the ring. "I'm sorry it's not my mom's," he sighs. "If I had hers I would have given it to you. This is my aunts and I figured it was the next best thing. My mom kept it after she passed."

"It's perfect," you state, leaning in to kiss him. You don't know how you got so lucky. Despite the ups and downs of your relationship, he was your person. You can't imagine loving anyone else.
