Y/N sat at the kitchen table on the first of September at 6am. The kids were still asleep. Tom was making breakfast. "Are you ok?" He asked, putting to plates of pancakes on the table. Y/N shook her head. "I'll miss them. The kids. This is the first year they're both gone." Y/N admitted. Tom wrapped an arm around her and hugged her tight. "I know. But they'll write. And you have me." He said. Y/N chuckled as she dug in to the pancakes.
About an hour later, Luke, their 12 year old son, walked sleepily into the kitchen. He had Y/N's facial features and E/C eyes, but he had Tom's dark curly hair and pale skin. "Morning." He mumbled sleepily. "Good morning Luke." Tom said, ruffling his hair and placing a plate of pancakes on the table. "Excited for Hogwarts?" Y/N asked him, sipping her coffee. "Yes. I can't wait to see my friends." Luke said. "And Daisy?" Tom asked, raising an eyebrow. Luke turned pink. "Uh...yeah, Daisy too." He stammered. "Remember when we fell in love, Tom?" Y/N asked, eyes twinkling. "How could I forget?" Tom answered, taking Y/N's hand. "When will you tell us the story?" Luke asked his parents. They shared a look. "When you're old enough." Y/N answered him. Luke groaned. Tom let out a laugh. Then Ivy, who was 11 came down. She had Tom's sharp features, height (making her taller than her brother) and pale skin along with Y/N's H/C hair and E/C eyes. "Morning dad. Morning mum." She said, sitting down. Y/N gave her a plate of pancakes. "Morning." Y/N said. "Good morning." Tom said. "All packed?" Y/N asked her. "Yep. I was already done last night." Ivy told them. Tom smiled. "You don't need to sit with me on the train." Ivy said, turning to Luke. "I wasn't planning on it." Luke scoffed. "Yes you were! Last night, when mum and dad were asleep, you sat me down and said, 'I'll sit with you on the train if you want. And if anyone gives you trouble, I'll personally beat them into a pulp'." Ivy exclaimed. "No I didn't." Luke muttered, turning slightly pink. Y/N let out a laugh. Luke was so like Tom.Soon, the family of four found themselves standing in front of a wall between platforms 9 and 10. "I'm going first!" Luke shouted and ran through. Ivy went next. Then, Y/N and Tom ran through, holding hands. "Where's Luke?" Y/N asked when she realised he wasn't standing with Ivy. "He ran off to Scorpius." Ivy told her. "Inconsiderate." Tom scoffed. Y/N placed a hand on his shoulder. "Come on Ivy. Let's go find you a place to sit." Y/N said, and the three left, finding a spot for Ivy in her own compartment. Then, Tom and Y/N left their kids to themselves, and Apparated back to their house. Tom sat on the couch, and Y/N lay with her head in his lap. He played with her hair. "We should go on a holiday." Tom suggested. "That's a good idea." Y/N agreed. She sat up. They shared a kiss. One thought repeated through Y/N's head. I'll never forget you. I'll never forget you. I'll never forget you.
It was the promise she had made to Tom technically fifty years ago. She could never forget him, now that he was in her time. She was happy. But sometimes, her nightmares featured Tom being dragged away, or fading away, or being pulled back to his time. On those nights, he held her close as she sobbed into his chest, and assure her that, no matter what, he would never leave her.
Sorry for the insanely short chapter, but I just could not think of any more to write. Thank you so much for seeing this book through to the end.
