After a few hours of talking and catching up with each other, Giyu finally leaves. Shinobu watches as he walks away. After that, Shinobu grabs Sonika's hands inside hers. "How is Tomioka recently?"

"The truth is, we're childhood friends. When we were younger, he would be the kindest and most adventurous and the silliest little boy ever." Ehh? Seriously? Him? Silly? Kind? Are we talking about the same person here? Shinobu thinks. "He was like my not-blood-related big brother," Sonika said, taking note that Giyu was 19 and that she was 17. (At the time. Also, Shinobu would be 16.)

"One day, I had to move away. We still sent each other letters from our lives back then, and one day he wrote:

Tsutako-nee. Demon. Eat. Food. Dead. Gone. Trust. No one believes me. Help.

So of course I would be worried. At first, I didn't get it, but now that I know that demons exist, it all makes sense. Then he stopped sending letters. And after a few months, sent letters again, but this time in a better mood. He would send the letters from Mountain ... Sagiri. He would talk about people named Sabito and Makomo and his 'master' Urodaki. he wrote something about final selection, and then when he came back, he wrote something along the lines of:

I don't want anyone else precious to me dead. I wish you the best,

                                                                                                                          -Tomioka Giyu "

Sonika looks at Shinobu. Being the daughter of a nobleman and having been to tons of weddings...  it's obvious that Shinobu likes Giyu.

....

That night, Sonika didn't sleep. She finished a well-though-out plan that would definitely bring the two together...
