~[Below the Depths]~ (Eddsworld au + oc fanfic)

It was a regular day at sea, at least it started that way. Edd was driving the boat as usual, Matt was looking at his reflection in the water, and Tom and Tord were preparing the fishing gear for another day at sea.

"Heads up guys, we're going further this time!" Edd called out to his friends with an upbeat tone. The other three only acknowledged Edd by giving a small nod.

The waves were calming and steady, and the breeze was sweet yet salty as always. The sky was clear and the water below was beautiful.

After a while, Edd threw down the anchor with a smile. "Tom! Tord! Are the nets and rods ready?" He asked.

"Yup, ready as always" Tom replied in his usual aloof and unbothered tone as he prepared the net and lowered it below the depths. Tord and Matt were enjoying some sandwiches off to the side as this was happening.

Hours passed and barley any fish were caught. The group was starting to give up, until they finally managed to catch a big school of fish. They brought the net up, which wasn't completely full, but was still a pretty decent catch.

"Alright guys, let's get these into some buckets and we'll head home!" Edd said enthusiastically as he started pulling the anchor back up.

The other three began doing as instructed, grabbing some buckets from below deck. As everyone was distracted, a blue, slimy hand reached out from the water and took one if the fish from the net. It wasn't noticeable of course, and the boys were obvious..
