Brianna Golden was the definition of her last name, with sun-kissed skin, brown eyes that glowed like the sun, and beach waves that always ran down her back like the ocean waves that were so wild yet so elegant. With a heart so golden, it was like she held the sun in her hands and tried to give it to every person she ever met. Her eyes held the world in them, she saw beauty in everything and has always been kind to everyone. Even when she was little and had still not experienced the hardships and cruelness of the world and before she could have even understood why her parents argued and argued but acted fine the next morning she always held the world in her hands and treated it with so much love that it was impossible to not love her back. Even when her heart was tired and her mind was exhausted or even when the amount of pressure became too much she always kept shining. Just like the sun, she was always there and she always came back.

Cousins Beach was the one place that Bri could truly call home, it was the one place she felt welcomed and where she felt like she belonged. She tried to live life in the moment but it always felt that every school year was just a countdown to when she could finally come back to Cousins. It was a countdown until she could run into the warm arms of the women that she considered second mothers, or run into the arms of some of her favorite people ever. Even before she could walk and talk it had always been Conrad, Jeremiah, Steven, Belly and Bri. Whether they were childhood friends or platonic soul mates remained a mystery but regardless they were always together every summer.
However, like any friends, they had their fights and disagreements and even moments where they went their separate ways but Bri and Conrad have always stayed together. Even as babies, they had always favored each other and stood by each other's side, so it was no surprise that as they grew up, their feelings for each other grew and bloomed into a love like no other. He was the only person who had seen all of her inside and out; she thought that he was the person, the one who brought her peace, but after he completely pushed her away, she didn't know what to believe anymore or what to do.
Now that she had lost the one person who truly understood her school was just a countdown to when she could finally feel the beach breeze against her face as she ran straight into the gorgeous blue water that was nothing except a library of all the tears in history; maybe she craved the ocean so much because it helped her relax or maybe because it was the one place were she felt seen and understood surrounded with all the stories of everyone who visited.
