Songs I listened to while reading:
Savage by Bahari, Fantasy by Lauren Spencer Smith/GAYLE/& Em Beihold, Colors by Halsey, If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin<3, Outrunning Karma by Alec Benjamin, Bad Idea Right? By Olivia Rodrigo, and Match in the Rain by Alec Benjamin.
I recommend all of these! (Especially the Alec Benjamin ones 🤭🤭) Enjoy the short story!"UGHHHHHHHH" (F/N) groaned as she shooed away the stray cat at her feet. The cat was charcoal black and had striking green eyes. "Go away! Just what I need, more bad luck." The cat finally lost interest in annoying the silly human and walk away without a sound.
(F/N) sighed as she remembered how horrible her day was. She dropped her plate at lunch, and with her social anxiety and people pleasing attitude she didn't tell the professors. So she went hungry and hadn't eaten anything all day. (F/N) felt a distant grumble in her stomach which made her realize why she was walking alone in the dark. (M/N) has asked her to go on a walk with him by the black lake and picnic.
The butterflies she felt as she remembered the moment made her feel like she was reliving it. She remembered (M/N)'s beautiful (E/C) eyes, and his strong arm he was resting on her locker door. She remembered how warm her cheeks suddenly felt as the blush crept in to color them.
"Yes!" She had said, perhaps a little too quickly. "I would love to." Her heart started to scream as (M/N)'s lips pulled back to reveal his straight teeth. She couldn't take her eyes off of them, longing to maybe connect her lips with his.
(F/N) stumbled jolting herself to reality. Her day dreaming had taken her away. Now that she was aware of her surroundings again, she realized that she was at the spot they were supposed to meet. She stood in awe at the black lake's deep blue waters shining in the moonlight. She tore her eyes away from the body of water and made them search for (M/N). When she realized he wasn't there, a wave of panic, anger, and sadness overtook her.
Did I get stood up?
She wondered. Her (E/C) eyes were starting to water. Surely not, he wouldn't do that.. Maybe he just got lost. Or he's running late.
A lonely breeze picked at her (H/C) hair as she crouched down. She tried to be positive and think rationally about the situation. She stood up, brushed off her (kindofpants), and went to sit at the bench next to the lake. She sighed and took her (H/T) hair out of the (updo) it was in. She let her (E/C) eyes shut, and she listened to the sound of the water.
She woke abruptly to the feeling that she wasn't alone. She opened her eyes and rubbed them. She was drowsy from the nap she had taken, and it took her a few minutes to remember where she was. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone else was with her. All of the sudden she felt two cold hands cup her eyes, until all she could see was darkness. She gasped and her heart started racing.
"Guess who." The voice said. She recognized the voice and relief flowed through her. "(M/N)!!" She quickly turned around to see him smiling behind her. "I'm so sorry! Did I really fall asleep?"
"Yes. But it's okay, I'm the one who should be sorry. I shouldn't of been that late."
(F/N) stared into his gorgeous (E/C) eyes. "It's totally fine!" She got up from the bench and walked around to stand next to him. "So shall we get on with the da- I mean picnic." Blush broke its way through his (S/C) skin as he realized he almost said the word date.
"You can call it a date. If you're comfortable that is." (F/N) found herself hoping that he would be comfortable. "Okay," he smiled, "Let's get on with the date then." He held out his (S/C), strong hand and she took it. He led her to a small picnic basket near the forbidden forest. (F/N) suddenly stopped in her tracks. She hadn't realized that they would be this close to the forbidden forest. (M/N) noticed this and tried to playfully calm her down. "Don't worry, I won't let anything hurt you." He smiled as he said this, which made (F/N)'s heart race. Her heart had already been beating faster than usual, but this was because of fear. When she stared into his eyes her fear went away.
"Of course the unicorns never stay this close to humans." He teased. (F/N) smiled and walked to the picnic table where (M/N) was already sitting.
The night until the walk was a blur. (M/N) had brought food for the picnic, which he stated many times was "not stolen from the cafeteria." They had talked and gotten to know more about each other. The evening seemed to be sped up, because it felt like it went by super fast. It was a full moon night, which really reflected on the gorgeous black lake. "How was the food?" (M/N) asked, looking hopeful as if he'd made it himself.
"Really good!"
"I'm glad! So, it's a beautiful night for a walk."
"Yes it is! The black lake is absolutely gorgeous at this time of night!"
They walked together for thirty minutes, admiring the nature's beauty as well as each other's. They shared more about each other, and looked around at the scenery that was slowly being consumed by darkness. They stopped to sit by the lake and enjoy the sunset together.
"Was this date okay? I believe it's the first one I've been on." (M/N) brushed the (H/C) hair out of (F/N)'s face.
"Yes,
Perfect."
