Cuddled Up and Snoozing

Start from the beginning

(Y/N) poked his cheek, laughing a little when he finally snapped back to reality. "Are you okay?" they asked, they traced little patterns on his palm. He couldn't ignore the way his heart pounded and the warm and fuzzy sensation he felt at their tenderness.

"Yeah," Luka nodded, "I'm okay. Great, actually" he replied with a lazy smile, happily relaxing into (Y/N)'s touch. As (Y/N) focused on his hands, all he could think about was how quickly this person strolled into his life and tore all his walls down. It was practically superhuman, like they'd done this more time than they could feasibly count. Maybe they had, but he felt so special and so terrifyingly seen that he couldn't find it in his heart to care about who they'd been with in the past.

He felt (Y/N)'s smile, humming to them-self while Luka settled comfortably into the couch "Do you want to go home or do you want to go out with everyone else?" They asked the question, but didn't really follow up. Mostly just putting the thought in his head as they went back to tracing small patterns on the palms of his hands.

Luka bit his lip, his gaze bouncing between the back exit and the door leading to the rest of the venue, a party going on just a few feet away. He couldn't ignore the questions racing in his mind. Was Marinette still out there? Would she be upset seeing him? Did he really want to have to see her? Is he really in the mood to socialize after taking such a huge risk with that song? Does (Y/N) want to leave? He looked at them, they seemed tired, but they'd also just woken up a few minutes ago.

"Relax" (Y/N) laughed at the truly perplexed look on Luka's face "we can do whatever you want. I'm happy spending time with you, I don't care where we end up."

Luka couldn't control the blood the rushed to his cheeks at their words and seemingly cool demeanor. He couldn't ignore the sudden possessive ire to keep this moment just to himself. He wanted to be alone with them "I could walk you home, or we could go somewhere else?"

"You don't have to walk me home, Luka. I can call a driver for that." (Y/N) said. There was a hint of discomfort in their words, like they weren't quite accustomed to saying stuff like that yet. Luka couldn't help but notice the way the tension seemingly melted away when they looked back at him. He noticed a spark of something, an idea clearly popping into their head "let's go get ice cream!"

Fondness filled Luka's hear at the almost childish excitement (Y/N) had at just the thought of getting a little treat. They cackled as they leapt from the couch and all but dragged Luka out of the venue and down the street.

He didn't even try to hold back his smile as he let (Y/N) lead the way. He took in the noises of the city, enjoying the way the entire city seemed to be alive despite the emptiness of the street they had happened to be on. He felt (Y/N)'s hand wrapped around his, he noticed the way they held it just a little bit tighter as they rounded corners. He tried to ignore the way his heart flipped at the simple gesture, but the extra effort to make sure Luka was safe in case he wasn't paying attention meant the world.

He was paying attention, but not to the potential road hazards or street signs. He was enamored with the way different lights hit (Y/N), and how they all looked unfairly good on them. Both the moon and the city lights made them look like a painting, and Luka silently cursed himself for never picking up photography as a hobby.

(Y/N) waved to Andre as they walked up to the bridge he'd set up business for the night on. Despite only being in Paris for about a week, they'd made it a mission to become a regular.

Andre face lit up as a jolly laugh escaped him "You brought a friend with you this time, (Y/N)!" he greeted them with a hug as they arrived "The Couffaine boy," Andre looked at Luka for an almost uncomfortable amount of time, his smile fainter as if he was studying the boy. Eventually, he smiled even wider than before "You're spirit is lighter than when I last saw you, my boy! It is such a joy to see!"

Luka smiled, he couldn't help the way he stood just a little bit taller at the man's words "It's nice to see you again too, Andre."

The Ice Cream King of Paris whirled around and begun making their ice cream. "Gold like his heart and blue like his eyes, the boy you love will certainly be a prize!" Andre spoke as he handed (Y/N) a cone of ice cream. It looked to be graham cracker and blueberry flavored, almost like a pie.

Andre's smile quirked up a little at the way Luka stared at (Y/N)'s ice cream with a little too much interest. "Dark like their humor and bright like their wit, with someone like them it's impossible not to commit!" Andre handed Luka ice cream with a scoop of coffee and vanilla flavored ice cream.

(Y/N) paid for the ice cream while Luka was distracted by Andre's showmanship, simply shrugging when Luka looked at them in confusion. "Just let someone treat you for once, it's not your job to take care of everyone else all the time, Luka." they said simply, smiling as they enjoyed some of their ice cream while they walked.

Luka was suddenly thankful for how dark it was outside, because he was sure that the blush on his face was painfully obvious as he just looked at Andre for a minute before chasing after (Y/N).

They ended up at a nearby park, holding hands as they talked about just about everything they could think of. Luka could not think of a single thing better than seeing them laugh at a joke he made, being the reason for their addicting smile. He adored the way (Y/N) lit up when they talked about their parents. It was still a pretty fresh wound emotionally, but Luka held them through their tears. Luka knew they'd lost their parents, but Juleka didn't tell him just how fucking recent it was.

After a few hours of talking and a few breaks to play on the park equipment, they left the park around three in the morning. They walked hand-in-hand back to Luka's house in a comfortable silence, taking in the sights of the city. He felt such an unusually natural rhythm with (Y/N). He'd never felt so comfortable just existing with someone before, and he really liked that feeling. He grinned like an idiot when (Y/N) kissed his cheek before getting into the black SUV they'd called to come and take them home.

Luka flopped onto his bed in a happy daze, his mind fuzzy and his heart pounding in his chest. He pulled out his phone, staring at the pictures he took of (Y/N) and the pictures they took together. He had to admit, his favorite was the one where (Y/N) got a little bit of Luka's ice cream on their nose while they were trying it.

He let his mind wander to all the things that could have gone wrong that night but didn't because (Y/N) was there. They did so much for him, and they did it all like it was the most natural fucking decision in the world. Like they wanted nothing more than to do something nice for him as opposed to get something from him. He missed their voice, their laugh, their touch.

Luka hugged his pillow with a defeated sigh, the poor boy was in love. There was other way to explain it. He stared at the ceiling, deep in thought. (Y/N)'s ice cream had to have been hinting at him, right? He pouted, he wasn't going to pressure (Y/N) into anything so soon after their parents death.

Instead, he stared at their picture until his eyes started to droop. "I miss them." he murmured, his eyes finally drifting closed for the night, no doubt dreaming of (Y/N).
