*Lil*
Your first kiss is supposed to be a mess. Your supposed not have a clue what you're doing and it's supposed to be with some guy you've had a crush on for the longest time, hiding away from everyone you know and you're supposed to leave it thinking it was okay.
But this.
This with some guy in a bar on my first night at University. This was my first kiss. It was hot and natural and he had me pushed up against a wall and his hands are holding my face and around my waist and I don't ever want this to end.
He tastes like the beers he just bought for us both, because I really didn't want something else sweet right now. Beer and mint and he smells so good. Like the ocean and trees and salt and thunderstorms and I'm so transfixed on this very moment, time isn't moving.
There's no oxygen getting to my brain and everything feels so fuzzy. He lets out a long slow breath, pulling his tongue out of my mouth but keeping everything else right there. Just enough for us both to breathe in for a few seconds in between the panting and for him to speak. It takes a few seconds for my brain to realize he asked a question that I'm supposed to answer.
"I didn't get your name." His thumb stroked over my cheek and I swallowed. I'm going to implode.
"Lil."
"Theo." His name had barely left his lips before he was crashing into me again and he was leaving my world quaking. It's a good job I'm sandwiched up between his huge frame and the wall because I know for certain my knees would not be lasting any longer without the supports keeping me standing.
I never thought my body could feel this buzzed. Like electricity in its purest form. Every nerve in my body was awaiting instructions. Standing and preparing for the slightest brush of his body against mine. He pulled my waist until my hips were pushed up against his and I took in a shocked snap of air.
It's perfect.
This first kiss is perfect.
So much better than the dozens of possibilities I'd built up in my head.
My fingers grip into his skin, slowly trailing up from his dense muscular arms to around his neck, pulling him ever closer. He grunts against me. The sound echoing in his throat and my body repeats it.
Then he pulls back. Panting. Both our chests heaving in the fight to restore oxygen into our bloodstreams. And I chuckle. Because this is not how I saw tonight going. I didn't see me having my first kiss tonight. It wasn't on the cards. I wasn't supposed to sit across the room from my new friends with some guy who handed me a drink, hit me with a few compliments and kissed me gently. It wasn't supposed to get that heated that quickly. But it did and I didn't regret it for even a second because he was perfect and so damn good at that.
"I haven't seen you around before."
"I'm new." I lifted my hand up, wiping my lipstick off his face. "Got here this morning." He pulled back a little, looking around behind him before grabbing my hand and pulling me into a nearby booth that had just opened up then pulled me until we were as close as possible. He turned into the conversation, resting his arm on the back of the round sofa, tucking a curl behind my ear from where it had slipped out.
"You coming to school here?"
"Montrose? Yeah." I nodded.
"Decided what your major is yet?"
"Umm. Kind of. I know what I want to do but there's a few options on how to get there. It depends on everything. My focus is my sport and everything else has to come behind that."
"Wait. you're here for sport? Which one?"
"I like this game. Guess." I smiled, settling into the chair a little more.
"Swimming?"
"No."
"Was I close?"
"Um. Kind of? I don't think you'll guess it." He grinned, more determined. Running off a few more sports. Volley ball. Football. Water polo. Synchronized swimming. No, no, no and no. His guesses got wilder, until we were both laughing at the thought of me in a boxing ring. I'm not exactly built for fist fights, I said, but I do hurt myself whilst doing the sport quite often.
"Physically?"
"Yes." I looked at the handful of scars on my hands. Just a flick of my eyes he didn't pick up on. "Never anything serious."
"Um. Running? Like the one with the hurdles?"
"No." Theo placed his hand on my thighs. "Want me to just tel-"
"No, I'm enjoying the challenge. I'll guess it."
"Lil?" I looked over for a second to Kaz and Lara, Callie leaned over Lara looking a little worse for wear. "We've gotta get Cal back. Are you coming?"
"Oh, shoot. Yeah. Um." I grabbed my bag.
"Wait. I want to carry this on."
"Look Theo, it was nice meeting you and all but that's my roommate and it'd be great if she didn't die on her first night here."
"So, give me your number." The red lights flashed in his eyes and I took a deep breath, taking his phone out of his hand and tapping it in. I could always block him if I changed my mind. I pressed a quick kiss to his cheek before scrambling out of the booth and leaving the club with the girls.
It was too quiet on the walk home. I think we all realized something really wasn't right with Callie. When we sat her down on the couch at home, I looked her over. There's a few things that come in super handy when your mum's a doctor. Moments like this are it. She taught me certain things to look out for if I was to get sick and to decide if I should get medical help or not.
"Hey Cal?" She grunted. "How closely were you watching your drinks tonight?" I sighed when she tried to say something and she just mumbled.
Looks like this year is off to a wonderful start.
