Nick and Charlie -afterwards

Nicks POV: 

(2 days later)

Todays the day, I have one chance to fix our marriage and i don't want to screw it up. I don't know what i would do without him. He is all I've ever known, he's all i want to know. Most people have had  at least 10 relationships before they were 30. I've only had 1. Charlie. The house was clean and smelled of vanilla and cinnamon, his favourite room spray. The kitchen cupboards were full of his favourite snacks in an attempt to help him eat better. All his clothes he left were freshly washed and put away in his drawers neatly. I made sure everything was perfect just to make Charlie feel a bit better about coming back , if he wanted to. I had all the proof that i did nothing on my phone, there were many screenshots, screen recordings and calls with Otis saying how I didn't tell him anything and there was even a backup plan where he would come to our house and explain it to Charlie, That's how desperate i was to make it work. 

I was sat at the dinner table waiting patiently for a knock on the door. When i see a news notification pop up. The headline read 'Well known Instagram star  Ben Hope sentenced to 10 years for stalking and sexual assault' my jaw dropped. I clicked on the article and read on 'Ben Hope is sentenced to 10 years for stalking his ex boyfriend and for multiple reported sexual assault cases from many different people. After his ex boyfriend rung the police because he was stalking him a lot of other people were encouraged to stand up about what Ben Hope has done to them.'  I immediately took a screenshot so i could show Charlie. I couldn't help but to smile, Ben finally getting what he deserved. Not to mention the other cases of him doing things. No wonder he hasn't changed. And since when was he an Instagram star? God knows but who really cares? He got what he deserved. I sat there for another 10 minutes scrolling on insta, twitter, anything to distract myself. I heard the long awaited knock so i placed my phone onto the table ready. I straightened myself up before rushing to the front door. I opened the door whilst henry was at my feet. I opened the door a little shaky but prepared, "Hi," i said after taking a big deep breath. "Hi," he replied shyly. I expected Tao to be with him for some odd reason but i was overjoyed to see him. I moved aside so he could come in, he happily walked in and went straight through to the living room, I shut the door behind him and walked behind him. "Do you want a cup of tea?" he looked up at me and politely shook his head. "I'll just be a minute then" i told him as i was stood in the door way. It felt very tense, probably because the only thing Charlie had said to me was 'hi' but i continued on.  I grabbed my phone off the table, i was so scared. My last chance. 

I walked into the living room and saw charlie looking at his phone,  before he put it back away into his trouser pocket. I didn't question it so I sat down next to him. "Uhm so how have you been?" I asked, to break the awkward silence. 

"Good," he said back in reply, he was anxious because his leg was bopping up and down and he was picking at his scars through his jumper. 

"Uhm do you want the proof?" I added. His eyes were unfocused and he was zoned out at the carpet, he obviously didn't hear me, "Charlie?" he finally noticed and looked up at me.

"Hmm...what? Oh yeah" He said, "Please." I opened my phone and went straight to gallery. I talked him through every single detail, how me or Otis knew how the hell Ben knew, How i did noting, how he saw how much i looked after him even when he was oblivious of what was happening. Charlie started crying when i was done, "Nick i'm so sorry, I've been an immature cunt, your my best friend and the best boyfriend. I'd never change that for the world!" he said still crying. God i was so relieved to hear that. He fell into my arms still crying. 

"Its not your fault, if anything its mine. I didn't help you in the right way and it could of ended up a lot worse. I never want you to feel like you cant tell me things just because we haven't talked about that topic in a long time. Your always my number 1 priority" i replied. It was all true, i could have helped a lot more than i did. He looked up at me and smiled. We sat there in loving silence for a minute that felt like hours. An idea suddenly popped into my head. 

Charlies POV: 

I'm so glad i'm home, not just being back at the house but being back with Nick. Nick is home. He played with my hair a couple times before opening his moth to speak. I looked up at him but he closed it again. He did this a couple times but finally spoke, "I wanna take you somewhere."

"Yeah?" i reply. I already knew where he was taking me. He helps me get up and we get ready. He packs a bag and other stuff but hides it away in the boot so 'i don't know where he's taking me'. We get into the car and just start driving, we talk about pointless stuff and whenever he has a free hand he holds mine. When we finally get there it was just as i suspected the beach, I smile at him wildly, i kissed his cheek but he has other ideas and moved to my lips. We just sat in the car kissing, until nick had to pull out his camera and take a picture of us... reunited. 

We held hands while walking to the little shop area, there were stands where you could take pictures in, fish and chip shops, gifts shop and the little fair, there's a bigger area where you can shop but we like our little place because its right next to beach front and there's an easy path to a secluded  area where we could make out as much as we wanted. This is basically where Nick took me for all our dates, I remember the first time Nick took me here. It was after some weird fight with him and Harry Greene plus Harry and Tao. I though it would be better if we broke up, obviously we didn't and then he took me here. This is where it started. 

"Do you wanna get somet to eat?" he asked me, i instantly felt shit. Eating has been even harder since the fight, i didn't really eat anything at Tao's. Luckily i don't think he noticed since i was mainly asleep, except for when tori was there. Nick saw my struggle to answer, he grabbed my hand, "We can eat later, I brough those things you love, we can have them on the beach!" He smiled. That was the kind of support i needed. We walked away still hand in hand. We tried to go on he carrousel ride but the worker told us we were too old. We walked away defeated but it didn't stop our fun day out.

When we finally arrived at our spot on the beach Nick laid down the beach towels for us to lay on, he unpacked some of the bag, he got out his air pods for us to share, "You choose i cant be arsed" he said whilst handing me the phone. 

"Fine, but your playlist is shit so I'm not using anything out of yours!" I told him, I put on heather by Conan Gray because it was only thing i could thing of in the moment. I put the air pod in for him while he was opening the food, there was a small range of party food in front of me, It overwhelmed me at first but i then remembered Nick would look after me. I picked up a mini scotch egg and put it in my mouth. 

When the song got to the chorus Nick cared enough to pay attention to what he was listening to, "Charlie! Omg!" i let out a small laugh. "You know....your my heather" I cringed at how soppy that was and i wasn't even entirely sure it made sense but i got it. 

"OMG NICK!!!" even though it was cringy it was still sweet enough to make me blush, we laid there and just laughed. "Why are we like this?!" i said. We laid there and just listened for a long time, the sky so blue and the water so clean. Nick turned over to me, "We're gonna get you the help you need, i'll book you a therapist again and we'll get through it. It don't want you to feel any pain ever." he continued, "can i do that for you?" I nodded immediately, I was sure i wanted the help with Nicks help.

"Thank you" I whispered.

Also ik there are some cliff hangers but charlie got the help he needed and he became a lot better and they lived happily ever after, The end
