A Glitch In the Code

??????? POV:

A few years went by with no "difficulty". School was hard for me, but Dad helps sometimes if he understands... "Eric, any after-school plans?" He asked me.

"No, not really... I might go to the library, but I don't have many plans..." I wasn't very popular in school, so I didn't have many, or any, friends. Books become my friends. Comic books, mostly... or ones on astrology. I just really liked space and comics. So what if I didn't have human friends? Books don't judge me for having pixelation syndrome. I watched as Dad ate his usual breakfast of peanut butter on toast as I ate my Pop tart.

"Hm. I want you home by five." He said with a small frown.

"Okay." I finished my breakfast and grabbed my bag, ready to go. He and I walked to the car in silence as he drove me to school. I waited for him to say something -- anything -- but nothing came. It was... a bit nice, I suppose. At school, he parked the car and only then did he speak to me, moving my head towards his, "Eric. You know I love you, right?"

"Of course... and I love you too." It made my stomach churn to say it. If I hadn't, though, he would have insisted on my saying it. He nodded in approval with a small smile and let me out. "Five o'clock." He reminded me as I nodded in return, waved, and headed inside.

After classes, I started on my way to the library, texting in my little group chat with some friends I met online.

Glitchy: Hi, Cupid :) How was your day?

♥︎Cupid♥︎: Boring TvT I'm so glad it's over. What about you??

Glitchy: Same. Super boring, super dull. Wish we had the same classes. Maybe then it would be more fun T^T

I looked up from my phone and saw the library dead ahead as I quickly crossed the street and headed inside. I pocketed my phone and looked around, seeing a guy who, in my opinion, looked very cute. But, I didn't say anything. I just walked nearby, hoping and praying to God that I wasn't blushing while I looked at an astrology book. My phone buzzed seconds later.

♥︎Cupid♥︎: Where are you, Glitchy? :]

Glitchy: The library. Isn't that exciting?

♥︎Cupid♥︎: *dies from excitement*

I burst out into small giggles at Cupid's response before getting a few more books, a few being comics I'd been waiting for, before going home with the checked out books in my bag, making it home before five. Safe.

That evening, I spent some more time in my group chat, smiling as I lay on my stomach in my room, right on my bed as I texted.

Glitchy: Hey, Multi! :D

Multicolor: Hi, guys!! What are you all up to?

Glitchy: Reading comics :)

Multicolor: Nice! And Cupid, if you need help, I think 80's is online :) He'll probably be more than happy to help out if you ask.

♥︎Cupid♥︎: :0 He is!? I'll go ask right now!!

I chuckled at the sudden leave. Cupid always had trouble with Math. Multi and I did too. We were lucky to have 80's to help us out with it. He's the reason I'm holding strong to a B- in Algebra. Otherwise I'd probably be failing. "Eric, go to bed!" I heard Dad yell as I sighed.

Glitchy: I gtg T^T

Multicolor: Aw, okay. Bye, Glitchy!

Glitchy has left the chat.

Cupid: Where did Glitchy go?

Multicolor: To bed. T^T

Cupid: I think I saw him today.

Multicolor: Really???

Cupid: Yeah. He looks really familiar to me. I don't know what from, though.
