My Spooky // On My Block

I stayed in bed the next day and would've probably stayed there if I wasn't a mother. Oscar's been texting me saying Princess keeps asking for me.

So I finally got out of bed jumped in the shower. I tied up my hair and got dressed before heading to Oscar's house. I was surprised to see a party going on outside. I shook my head and parked before getting out and going inside.

I went upstairs to Oscar's room to him sitting with Princess while she watched something on her tablet, her headphones on comfortably.

"What's up with you?"

"Nothing I'm good."

"Liar." He said before Princess noticed I was here and ran over. She began telling me about her stay with her dad.

"You two should stay for a while. Ruby and Mario are here and there's a couple kids around here somewhere." He said.

"Thanks but I should probably get her home." I said. He nodded softly and said bye to Princess.

I took her downstairs and out to the car.

"Uncle Ruby and uncle Mario mommy look." She pointed and squirmed to get to them. I sighed and put her down so she could take off. She ran over to Ruby and hugged him before running to Mario. He smiled and picked her up. He said something to her to make her laugh, then said something else to make her point to me.

I took a deep breathe as he walked over with her. I shook my head taking her from him.

"Baby you realize you see Mario everyday at home right?" I said as I put her in her seat.

"So what." She said. Mario snickered and I made a mental note to speak to both Diaz brothers. I strapped her in and closed the door.

"Mani can we talk?" Mario asked. "You've done a good job at avoiding me even though we live in the same house."

"Yes because your very pregnant girlfriend is an everyday reminder of how much of a terrible person I am. You were drunk and I wasn't. I should've stopped it. I shouldn't have even kissed you back."

"Why did you?" He asked. I chewed my lip and shook my head.

"I'll see you later." I said before getting in the car and driving home.

I had been in my thoughts lately and felt very confused. I liked Mateo but I had these feelings for Mario that I didn't fully understand. I knew I should probably focus my attention on him since Mario's attention had to be on the mother of his child.

But I knew I'd just feel worse. I needed to figure things out and let Mateo know that. So I asked him to meet and since he was in the area. He pulled up and we sat in the car in silence the first few minutes.

"What's up mama."

I took a deep breath.

"I slept with Mario, and I feel terrible, and I'm all confused. I don't want to assume you still want anything to do with me, and I don't wanna string you along while I'm tryna figure things out." I said while looking at my hands. He was quiet and when I looked at him, he was simply staring straight ahead, his fists in his lap.

"I understand." He finally said. "I appreciate you being real. I still like you, a lot. So I'll give you your space and I'll still be here whatever choice you make. We friends remember?" He said finally looking at me. I fought back tears and moved to hug him when he opened his arms for me.

I was dreading going to the baby shower. Especially since Mario decided to move in with his mom until him and Amber get their new place. I wasn't surprised, and I couldn't be mad. I couldn't face either one of them yet, and figured it was probably best he moved out.
