There was a pilot chapter for The seven deadly sins once, and Meliodas was not a pervert in it. And apparently it was Nakaba's editor who told him every meeting they had that Nakaba should add more ecchi stuff into it (same thing goes for one of Nakaba's other Manga's, the protagonist was not a perv originally) So I guess we don't have to give Nakaba the complete fault if that's true. But Nakaba did add wierd stuff into the story of SDS a lot of times, I can't justify that.
