(A requiem of simpler times) BSD x Neuvillette Male!Reader

While darkness, might often be conceived as bad or connected with bad. You cannot deny while engulfed in dark everything around you is much more simple. Everything will be viewed in different stages of gray and black, the only thing bringing the complexity back is light. The world isn't far from that, if everyone is in a state of darkness you look at everything in a much simpler manner. Instead of complex moral questions you are bound to instincts, what gaines you survival or better chances. Only the comfort of light allows to observe the world in complexity and shows you a full new set of problems.

Y/N was sitting in an office, going through recent reports. Someone had been creating beings, probably with an ability and sending them of to do their bidding. Stealing, Attacking and even Murder were among the crimes. At the moment it is uncertain how to handle the beings, as it is not known if they are truly sentient or simply part of the ability. The creator seemed to have no care what happens with these little things, since none of them ever had an escape root as long as it wasn't needed to secure stolen items. And questioning had left no results. The little creatures, claim they are to be called Melusines and refer to themselves as female, but none of them have a personal name. These poor little things were thrown into this world, simply to be used to satiate their creator and Y/N planned to put an end to this. Sakaguchi one of his colleagues recently handed him a report that gave Y/N another point to deepen his search. Recently one of the Melusines that had been spotted in Yokohama looked far more human then any of the others, seemingly an exception in their ranks, it wasn't much but Y/N had to take any possible lead he could get to complete this case. Someone knocked on the office door.

"Come in." Y/N said

The door opened to reveal Sakaguchi, since the beginning of this case Y/N's desk was always covered in towers of papers he wished to review again. So much even so that Y/N tried requesting another desk to do his reports on, which was denied since he would only fill that desk too. Normally Sakaguchi didn't comment on Y/N's desk but today was different.

"Neuvillette, are you really re-reviewing reports from the beginning of this case?" Sakaguchi asked

"Yes, there is a possibility that I have missed something important." Y/N answered

"And what will you do if people didn't write something down because they didn't believe it to be important?" Sakaguchi asked

No answer from Y/N only a sigh.

"Not everyone I'm the division is as thorough with the reports as you are." Sakaguchi told him

"I know... But I still have to try." Y/N stated

"Sacrificing so much to stop all of this. Even so we don't even know yet, how to handle the Melusines." Sakaguchi sighed

"Was there anything you came here for? I will go patrolling soon to maybe run into a Melusine or preferably the one you informed me about." Y/N explained

"Only wanted to check if you are still alive, or if you have drowned in your papers." Sakaguchi told him

"I see. Thank you for you concern but I can take this. But if we can solve this... Let's go eat somewhere. You have helped me so much on this case I would like to at least treat you to a meal before we dive into the next case." Y/N said

"Oh you don't have to, it is our job to solve these cases after all." Sakaguchi said

"And still you are helping me with mine even though you have your own active problem with the Mafia and Mimic. I insist we go." Y/N told him

"Alright then." Sakaguchi sighed

"I will head out now. You should probably leave to. Don't want any of the other two groups to ask questions." Y/N advised Sakaguchi
