Game of Survival - Nine x Reader

The cave was dark, damp, and cold. Not the most pleasing location to wait for Sonic and Nine to return. What also made it quite unpleasant was the dark coloured hedgehog. He was just plain scary. I was too afraid to bring up anything to talk about and well, if I annoyed him to point of which where he would try to kill me, a one armed (Y/A) would most definitely be killed in an instant.

A few hours had passed and waiting was getting boring, So with a gulp I began, "How long do you think they will-"The second the began was luckily the moment the hedgehog and fox had arrived, saving me from my own demise. Pushing a metal box, with Nine atop it, Sonic came to a halt in front of us.

"(Y/N)!"

"Nine!"

Rushing towards each other, we hugged, my arm pathetically wrapping around him as he held me close.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah," I nuzzled into him, "Yeah, I' fine."

A loud explosion separated us as we looked out toward the entrance of the cave. My eyes widened upon seeing the Chaos Council's ship.

"Okay, Nine, put the crystal together, me and Shadow will hold them off." In second Sonic and the black hedgehog rushed out towards the oncoming battle. I wanted to join to help, but I knew I would slow them down. Giving Nine a smile, and him giving you one back, he quickly began to put the crystals together atop a rock.

It only took a few minutes before Eggforcers began to overrun the cave. I was able to pull off a few moves to destroy the majority, but it was no use. Without my metal arm, there was only so much I could do. My slow movements and lack of balanced only provided the robots with easier chance to get me out of their way.

Eventually Sonic arrived, assisting me in finishing off the Robots, but he was much more panicked as he faced Nine and began to ramble on about a giant Eggman. Thinking he was delusional from the fight, I paid little attention to the conversation. But, as the ground shook and rocks began falling from the roof of the cave, I looked over at the cave entrance and almost choked on a gasp.

A huge Eggman's face blocked the sun from entering the cave, a bright purple moustache covering most of his face.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" I shouted, backing up towards Nine and Sonic. Glancing to my side, my jaw dropped as I saw Sonic glowing. "AND WHATS WRONG WITH HIM?" Before my brain could process, Sonic sent the giant Eggman flying. Looking back at Nine, I blankly stared at him confused. He met your gaze and awkwardly smiled. "What just happened?"

After a few more moments, Tail's had finished the crystal. Looking back at you, he smiled before taking the crystal off the rock. Watching him, I tilted my head to the side.

"What are you doing?" Nine remained silent as he opened a portal tat I knew led to another world. "Nine?"
"I am going to create a new world. A world where everything is perfect. A world that fixes everything," Nine gazed back at me, holding his hand out, "(Y/N), come with me. I can make a world that we both never got to experience. We can start a new... together. You and me."

Ears perking, I glance behind me to see Sonic and Shadow standing at the entrance of the cave. Shadows eyes were sharp and aggressive, where Sonic appears upset and disappointed. Lowering my ears, I gaze back at Nine. Knowing what he wanted... what I wanted... couldn't be.

"But this world... it isn't meant to be. All those duplicates of you... the other fox... they aren't meant to exist. We are not the originals. Nine... give Sonic the crystals."

His ears fall back, "What are you talking about. We aren't meant to exist! Well we do exist. Its not fair that the other Nine gets to exist and I don't- And you don't exist in the 'original' world. What then? What is the other Nine suppose to do... because... your the only one-the only one-" he looks at you and you knew what he wanted to say

He loves me.

Tears fill my eyes.

My hand twisted into a tight fist.

"If the world changes you wont be around, and I can't live with that. A world without you isn't a world."

My shoulders fall as you become defeated.

"Nine... how can you ask me to take the lives of others for the life of myself. Please Nine, don't do this. I know if the world returns to its original state I won't exist and we won't remember any of this but... maybe there is a reason the world is suppose to be like that."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... my existence in this universe and not in any other may be the reason that your life and the life of the other rebels is so fucked up. I am a fake. I am an anomaly. I could be destroying the existence of everything because I exist when I am not suppose to."

Nine looked at me and then at the crystals, "I don't want to lose you."

"And I don't want to lose you. But if we keep everything like this, we will lose each other. At least if everything goes back, you will be okay. And if you're okay, that will make me happy."

His blue eyes gazed into my (e/c) eyes, his demeanour softening.

"Please. Do this for me."

This is crap, I know, but I am so flipping done with this book. I'm sorry that this ending is not a great as what you wanted it to be and what I wanted to make but I just can't do it anymore. I have so many ideas for my own novel that I just want to get this book out of the way. I definitely rushed the ending and I'm sorry, but I just can't. Even the thought of having this book sit on the side while I create my own story just distracts my brain and I want to finish this.

Will I ever be back - Probably not.

I want to create my own world with my own characters and I just had to get this book done so it wouldn't clog my brain. I am sorry this chapter sucks, I am sorry I fell out of Sonic, but I am not sorry for all the people I met.

You guys were just amazing and did not deserve this crappy chapter. And I'm sorry. But I'm done and going to bed now. If you ever see one of my books get published (which let's be honest with my writing it's so unlikely) just know I had the ability to do that because of you people having inspired me so much.

If you do want to follow my possible books in the future, I will be writing in the Sci-fi Romance area so maybe a few years in the future, one of those book could be mine.
