Since the girls had time before homeroom started, they decided to wander across the field for a place to relax. Lucy glanced around, before bringing up the subject from earlier. "So we have to babysit four new students. Two of them being from the richest families in all Fiore." She sighed as a sinking feeling crept up inside.
Once the group found a spot they settled into a circle on the grass, being careful not to mess up their uniforms. Kagura broke the silence. "I think we should look into this more," Her eyes narrowed, her tone sharp and filled with suspicion. "How are two students from the wealthiest families transferring here? Yes, this school is a good one but seriously? What could this school offer them that they don't already have?"
"Yeah," Levy chimed in, leaning back on her elbows. "Last I heard Laxus was home schooled by the best teachers money could buy and Jellal was abroad at some fancy place. There's no way their families moved them here out of sheer interest. They're not the type."
Mira stared at the ground, a frown forming. "I have a feeling this may be connected to our business."
The girls looked at her, waiting for her to continue.
"I heard rumors about the Dreyar family," She said, her voice low. "And knowing how tightly connected the Fernandes family is to them, I'm sure they're not far behind."
"Mira, you said that there's a chance they're connected to the business we work in. The man you... serviced last night, do you think?" Erza asked.
Mira pressed her fingers to her temple, trying to fight a headache building up. "There's a possibility. Yeah." She sighed.
Yukino shook her head, pulling her knees to her chest. "This may not bode well for us." Her soft voice filled with worry.
"So what do we do?" Levy asked, her voice urgent. "We're mixed in with all this, and if they get caught, there's a chance of all this leading back to us. Any hope we had of escaping is going disappear like that." She snapped her fingers.
The group feel into a quietness as they thought of the severity of the situation. Everything they had worked for hung on a thin strand. Their escape and hopes for freedom could be taken away.
"Not only that." Juvia murmured. "If we're right and those two families are sinking their claws in then what if they know about us? And not just about the business. Juvi– I mean... us us." She gestured to the group, her voice trembling.
Lucy groaned as she fell onto the grass, throwing her arm over her face. "Screw this. Let's just ask Ronnie."
Erza chuckled, crossing her arms over her chest. "Like he'd ever tell us."
Mira rolled her eyes, her lips twisting into a bitter smile. "Yeah, when has the truth ever come out of his mouth? We'd only be wasting our time and it'd do us no good if he knows that we're worried about this."
Kagura's eyes flashed with determination. "Then we'll look into this ourselves."
Erza nodded. "Agreed." She glanced at the girls. "We can't sit back and wait for information to come to us. We need facts."
"Hmm, well if we are doing this then we need to act fast. After 1st period during our nutrition we're supposed to meet up with them to officially introduce ourselves." Mira said.
Yukino, biting her lip, spoke up. "Since Laxus and Jellal are in the same grade grade as you both maybe you should lead the charge on them for now until we can think of something?"
"Oh my, pushing the work onto us, huh?" Mirajane giggled, flashing a teasing grin.
Yukino blushed. "N-no! I just mean you two have a better chance of getting closer to them than us since you'll share classes."
