So if you've managed to make it this far through my Midnights album review, I will finish off by listing my Top 3 songs (Obviously so you can call me a witch and burn me alive for how wrong my opinion is)

Whew, this is probably like a novel you wished TikTok didn't recommend, but here we go!

1. Lavender Haze

(Yeah, yeah, let me guess, where the f*** is Maroon? Get over it. Some of us don't base our opinions on social media.) So yes, I have to say this is my number one. The immediate blast of synth beats followed by the background vocals is what lured me in and kept me from pressing Skip. If my only criteria was that I gave a song more than one listen, then this one would've made the cut. It's fun and experimental and it gives you this feeling that sexy can be an achievable personality, which essentially sets the tone for the rest of the album.

2. Question?

So this is my number 2. I'm sure some of you are probably going back through the track list because you forgot it existed. But let me just say, h*** s***, this one was something else. If you're one of those people who only listen to songs for the sounds versus the lyrics, then you'll probably disagree, but all I can say is this is peak TS mind f*ckery. You know when you can tell that a cat is contemplating doing something sh*tty? That's how I would describe listening to this one. There are questionable things in this song—Very intriguing, (potentially catastrophic?) questionable things.

3. Karma

Wow, shocker, I know. But what else would you expect? As I mentioned at the start of this review, someone once told me that karma is real. And according to TS, apparently, karma is also something that can work in your favor. Perhaps she was only referring to herself, but I certainly don't interpret it that way. Regardless, I'm predicting this one will sneak its way into single territory. (Perhaps a feature with another artist?) It's upbeat, radio formula, and for three minutes and twenty-two seconds, we can fantasize about the world working in our favor. Whether it's your ex, boss, or mother-in-law, there is a very specific person that will come to your mind when you listen to this one.

I certainly know who that is for me.

"By the way, Barbara said she wants to meet with you in her office," Jessica informed, pushing off of the desk and picking up her coffee.

Dorothea turned away from her computer to face her. "Wait, right now?" she asked as the other woman nodded. "Why?"

She'd never been alone in a room with Barbara before. She was pretty sure none of the other content writers had, either. Her review of Midnights had been published earlier that morning, and it was quickly pushing its way into viral territory, so that might have had something to do with it. But most of her Taylor Swift content did relatively well these days, so something told her it wasn't just that which prompted Barbara to suddenly open up her calendar.

"She didn't give me any details," Jessica said. She rolled her eyes playfully as she turned around. "Don't sweat it, Thea. She probably just wants to tell you how much she loves you to your face, as opposed to everyone else in a conference room."

When she stood up, she immediately felt lightheaded and had to brace herself on the desk. Green and yellow splotches whirled across her vision. As they faded away, she was met with the photo of Nick and Ivy at the rodeo. Then, Ivy's curious voice came into her mind, repeating what was said behind a mouthful of Cheerios.
