• After another instance of Malleus not understanding Cater, Lilia eventually had to teach him the purpose of a highfive. So Malleus decided to try this gesture when you excitedly informed him about getting a good grade in a subject you didn't feel very confident in. He held his hand up, expecting you to reciprocate the gesture. Instead you gently put your hand on his and intertwined your fingers with his. Malleus' mind was racing because "oh my god this isn't what Lilia told me would happen, what do I do now???" and Lilia is having a field day in the background, wheezing and trying to catch his breath. You'd invite Malleus to have lunch with you, pulling him along by his hand but letting go soon enough. The prince noticed immediately how he already missed the warmth of your hand in his and whatever just happened was way better than a highfive.

• Malleus and you had a lot of fun spending Halloween together as well. You enjoyed yourselves at the Halloween parade, celebrating with the guests and all the other students. After the party, you sat down in Malleus' room, reflecting on Halloween week. "What was your favorite part about Halloween at Night Raven College?", Malleus asked curiously, given that this Halloween was such a rare experience for him compared to you, who was used to these Halloween customs. "Getting to spend it with you", you replied honestly, looking into his eyes. Malleus is trying very hard not to show how rapidly his heart is beating in his chest. No one ever seemed to miss him when he wasn't at celebrations, yet here you were, affirming that his presence was such an important part of the experience for you. He felt the same way.

• Not knowing how to respond to this, Malleus took out a bag of candy he had brought from the Halloween party, plopping one into his mouth to have an excuse not to talk and collect his thoughts. You sat down next to him, reaching into the bag and pulling out candy as well. Malleus gave you a teasing smirk. "Didn't anyone teach you not to steal from a dragon?" You chuckled, shoving some of the candy into your pockets. "What if I steal your heart? Will that get me into trouble?" I can assure you you've already stolen that. But cue Malleus' shocked expression once again, fighting the urge to confess his love for you on the spot. He could feel his cheeks heating up. Somehow you managed to be so casual with him and then once in a while you would say things like this out of nowhere. Just when he wasn't expecting it. So that was what people meant when they talked about butterflies in their stomach, he thought. It was those moments he desperately wished for you to say what you felt for him out loud. To just give him the confirmation that you loved him and he was ready to give you all his love in turn.

• When he showed you GaoGao Dragon-kun, explaining how it is an important treasure to him because Lilia brought it back from one of his travels for him, he asked you whether you had a treasure as well and you'd cup his cheeks and tell him "That's you". He'd laugh and remind you how bold you are, hoping you wouldn't notice how much he wanted you to pull him into a kiss. Or that you would notice and actually do it. This would be one of those moments he'd remember late at night when thinking about you. Malleus doesn't need a lot of sleep but if he did, I assure you thinking about you would keep him awake once in a while. Occasionally Lilia would enter his room to bring him a tea, or in a worst case scenario, a dish he cooked, and sometimes find Malleus just laying there and smiling happily without even noticing.

• If you give him a pet name even before dating him, he wouldn't even question it. Yes, he'd take it as even more evidence that you were attempting to court him, but he accepted the nickname just like that. You could call him dearest or sunshine and he would just roll with it, possibly address you with "my dear" once in a while. But he loves it. Regardless of its meaning, it was proof that he was very special to you. That you indeed looked at him with the adoration he could see in your eyes. It'd never fail to make him smile. It also prompts the "LILIA YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED" conversation, which makes the older fae realize that oh boy the dragon fae he helped raise from the time he still had an eggshell on his face had his first crush.
