Pierre could not help but smile when he saw Eleanore across the street from him, he had been wanting to speak to her ever since he saw the way Charles looked at her when she wasn't looking, and the way she looked at him when he wasn't. He knew his reputation as the gossip king of the grid, and it didn't bother him, the truth of the matter was he just loved people, and always seemed to be told or witness something he wasn't supposed to know or see. He also couldn't help but share these, as he hated secrets. Normally he wouldn't actively do this when it involved his best friend, he has some boundaries after all, but he was 100% certain that Eleanore reciprocated the feelings that Charles admitted to him earlier in the day.
Charles: I can't explain it Pierre, she is amazing and I want to be around her all of the time... I want to share everything with her.
Pierre: ok mate, calm down, you barely know her. She barely knows you.
Charles: I feel like I can tell her anything.
Pierre: anything? Wait. Do you mean you would talk about those deep dark brooding feelings you keep locked in a box?
Pierre teased his friend with a cinematic action movie trailer voice.
Charles: fuck off!
He knew Charles wasn't angry with him, but was just annoyed at the comment he had made. So, Pierre continued to tease him.
Pierre: come on, we both know you have those deep dark brooding feelings.
The deep dark brooding feelings were not a well-guarded secret, of course no one knew exactly what they were that Charles felt or thought about, but everyone knew there were things that hurt and impacted him deeply and he didn't ever share. Over the years the feelings and thoughts had grown with every heart-breaking tragedy the Monegasque endured. Pierre was certain a lot of the feelings were about his dad, his godfather, and their friend Antoine. He was also sure, it involved hopes for the future that he didn't dare to speak aloud, for fear that the moment he did the universe would find a way to take them from him. Of course, he spoke about winning a world championship, and wanting kids, but that was always spoken in generic terms. He kept his feelings, his vulnerabilities closely guarded, and this was one of the reasons Pierre would not normally gossip about him. He was truly shocked when Charles confirmed what Pierre had been asking.
Charles: yes though... I can see myself telling her everything.
Pierre: then you should get to know her, tell her you like her. Ask her out. What's the worst that could happen.
Charles: shut up she is right there.
Pierre had looked up and saw Eleanore heading to the car park and waved. He decided in that very moment that he would break the rule he set a long time ago and get involved in the Monegasques personal life. He just needed to get Eleanore alone. So, when he went for a walk that evening to try to decide the best approach he was truly thrilled when he spotted her and didn't hesitate to shout her name. Unfortunately, he forgot all about the Charles gossip when the PR woman mentioned wanting to speak about a Team Principal. He knew immediately who she meant.
Pierre: oh, is this about Horner having an affair with an Alpha Tauri employee? The one who applied for your job, thinking her relationship with Horner would help her get it.
He saw in Eleanore's face that he was spot on in what she was wanting to speak about, he also noticed that she was pleased with herself.
Eleanore: I thought I was crazy for thinking it...
Pierre: wait, so you didn't already know?!
Rule one of gossiping for Pierre was that he wouldn't divulge everything if the person didn't know something already. He had spoken without being certain of that for the first time in his life, and he found he was impressed that she had no proof of the matter, but suspected. Even more impressed when she explained how she came to the conclusion.
