It had been raining all day during classes, it was now nighttime when a young girl walked home after a long day of studies and work. She had just finished her shift at the diner, her bones were sore and she wanted nothing more than to take a hot shower and collapse on her comfy bed.
The air was thick, and the musky earth smell lingered, that smell when it's rained for the first time after months of dry and sunny weather.
Of course, it rains the one day I miss my bus... the young girl thought to herself, the girl in question is our lovely (Y/n) (L/n).
She was already having a bad day due to the three hours of sleep she got the previous night, but she couldn't help it she only had four chapters left of the book she was reading 'Astral Delusion'.
She bought the book at her nearby bookstore a few months ago, normally when she comes across a book she's interested in she devours the whole thing in just a few hours. But she wanted to enjoy it this time especially since it was a romance novel.
She hadn't read a romance novel in quite some time because as of lately she'd been more interested in murder mysteries and dystopian novels and even some adult fantasy here and there.
So instead, she limited herself to two chapters a night, it was nice looking forward to something after a long and boring day of listening to lectures and taking orders at her waitressing job.
Do you want to know one of the worst things to happen for book lovers like herself? Investing so much time into a story, limiting yourself to a few chapters a night. Day after day, night after night, anticipating and trying to hold yourself back from reading the whole thing, getting more excited for the end.
Just to get the shittiest ending possible.
The one fucking ending that you didn't want, the ending that you told yourself 'You know what anything but that ending is fine' just to get that stupid fucking ending?
For book lovers, it can plague their minds for weeks, months even.
That's what happened to (y/n) last night, she told herself screw it, there are only four chapters left might as well finish it, then she couldn't go to sleep because she couldn't stop thinking about how god awful the ending was, wishing she never picked up the damn book in the first place.
To make matters worse she decided to search the authors' page to see if there was possibly a sequel if not, a chance for one, and if there wasn't she was going to be a Karen and message the author to tell her how bad the ending was and that she needed to count her fucking days.
But it was strange as the authors' page was nowhere to be found, the page had been completely wiped as if it never existed in the first place and not just that, when she tried searching the title nothing came up for that either, the online group that she was apart of where fans could talk about theories and analyses were gone as well.
I guess it was so bad even the internet wanted nothing to do with it.
So she spent the whole day being confused and pissed about the situation.
The book in question was a dark love story reverse harem with four twisted male leads who would do anything for their beloved, in other words, a Yandere book.
She had heard of the term yandere before and knew what it meant but never read one until she came across the unique hardcover with all of the main characters plastered on the front in her small local bookstore, the nice lady who owns the cute place actually gave it to her for free, a gift she said for being so loyal to her small shop.
