THE DAYS ON DAGOBAH were just like their nights, though a lot colder and a bit longer. There'd also been this deeper sense of security as it was the time most of the creatures crawled and slithered back to their homes to sleep.
It had taken the first few nights for Lyn and Luke to finally become comfortable with their surroundings—though the latter had taken less time as he'd been sleeping like the dead nearly from the start. Lyn had become comfortable, however still couldn't find the natural tendency in her to sleep, so in her sleepless nights R2 would usually keep her company as they quietly talked while Luke snored away.
Despite the first few nights being this way, their first few days consisted of simple training before becoming more vigorous. It had taken only a few days of intense training before Lyn had the genius idea to make their travels faster and easier if she and Luke had moved their camp closer to Yoda's place.
Now, in the wide tent that was shared by her, Luke and R2—she'd been sitting and listening to the sounds of the calm nightly nature. R2 had been shut down as he spent most of the night, on some nights, recharging. The droid had stood in the far corner, which was deemed 'his part of the tent' by himself after seeing Luke and Lyn had their own sides.
Lyn had the left side, where she was currently sitting with a blanket thrown around her and a pillow to the side. Whereas Luke had the right side, where he was engulfed by his blanket and slept soundly on his pillow enjoying the soft, raised plush base that ran all across the center area of the tent.
A thin, yet sturdy pole in the center had acted as a mark of separation between the sides, even though its real use had been support for the roof to stand tall. The netted windows were covered with a flap and fully zipped up, making the insulated walls work greater to keep them warm from the low temperature outside. Most of their belongings had plagued the perimeter of the tent as they were laid out along most of the walls and corners.
It was seemingly the perfect tent, weather resistant on the outside while being a tidy, warm space on the inside. She now understood why Luke was always soundly asleep, the tent was basically a portable bedroom that they had shared since forever—it was the most relaxing place to be on a planet so naturally chaotic, it was like their warm little home amidst everything...so she didn't understand why she was awake.
The past several weeks had been just like this. She'd sleep but only for a few short hours. She knew what the root of the problem was, but how could she possibly ease her body that was anticipating something without knowing what exactly it was? It was as if her body was receiving a vision but without the visuals, she would feel it immensely instead.
She thought after the Battle of Hoth that she would finally get some good sleep, as that's what she figured her restless nights were about—but that clearly wasn't the case. So if something as intruding and rigorous as the battle was wasn't what she was anticipating, then what was?
Whatever the answer was, she'd been absolutely dreading it in silence as she always had done. She had learned to accept this drastic change of used to having visions, and seeing them as clear as day, to having them up and disappearing after engulfing herself in her new methods. She took it as a loss for a gain, however she strongly detested how much her body would be stressed.
