I put the box with cupcakes on my lap once I settled in my car's passenger seat. Still can't believe I agreed that Avalon can take my car for a drive to the basketball court. Well, not that I mind. It's just she loves to speed and I on the second hand hate it. I've witnessed too many families' deaths because of it.

Sighing, I relax against the cushion in relief. Today was awesome but it was exhausting. I could never think that my second day would be this draining.

" Why can't I have one now? There's plenty for seconds, " Caleb whispers near my ear.

I wave him off and hear him scoff.

" There are only seven, Caleb, " Avalon explained and drove the car out of its parking spot, "Plus, if anyone deserves that cupcake it's me. "

I side-eye her and Caleb snorts.

" I need the sugar. And you want to cut. I don't think you want to add extra calories to your diet. "

I snicker at her silence. He got her right where it hurt.

" Well, " she clears her throat to gain extra time to think of a witty response. We stare at her, waiting patiently and when she doesn't say anything, we look at one another and cackle.

" Oh, I hate the two of you, " she bites.

Our laughter booms.

" Come on, Ava babe. We could share, " he pleaded.

" You are a child to go on about a stupid cupcake like this, " Avalon insults.

He grins and winks. I shake my head.

" I'll cut it in three parts if you could find a knife for me to do so, " I say and watch his eyes light up in excitement and die again in a time of seconds. I smirk in my wickedness.

" You're a bitch for doing that. "

Avalon gasped but I could only laugh.

" I agreed to give you a third of a cupcake. "

" In which I must first find a knife for you. Do you see any goddamn knife lying around? "

My smirk widens and he looks at me in caution.

" You have a knife lying around? "

I snicker and brush off the entire situation.

" No. I was joking. "

His sigh is heavy: as if he was concerned I might have one lying around to kill somebody. I stare at him plainly and shake my head, disheartened he thought of me in such a way.

" Just for your reaction, I will keep it for my dog. "

He didn't react as I had hoped, instead, he invested his energy in his curiosity. I tut.
