THE NEXT DAY
Blake was sitting in English listening to Mr. Howie talk about Odysseus, the god, sneaking into a Cyclops cave.
"When the Cyclops came back to his cave Odysseus pretty much expected him to give him his cheese and goats, because back then that's what you did with guests, gave them gifts." Mr. Howie spoke to them as Blake stared down at her desk.
She felt something hit her in the head and smiled. She turned around but didn't see Chris anywhere. That's weird he never missed school, especially on game day. Blake picked the paper up off the floor and put it in her pocket and turned back around. A couple minutes later something hit her head again. She looked around the classroom and tried to keep her smile hidden when she found Chris in the far back of the classroom laughing. She picked up the piece of paper sticking it in her pocket before looking back ahead. After class Blake was at her locker when she opened the notes finding more flattering remarks. She smiled and stuck them back in her pocket. She grabbed her books out of her locker when they suddenly fell from her hands and hit the floor. She groaned before leaning down and picking them. Someone bent down beside and grabbed three out of the five books on the ground. She looked up to be met with Chris's ocean blue eyes. She stared at him before he looked back down at the books. Blake stood up and Chris quickly stood up beside her and handed her her books with a cough.
"Here." He told her.
"Thank you, Christopher." She told him and he paused for a second realizing there was more meaning behind her thank you before nodding his head.
"You're welcome." He turned and walked away from her as she turned back to her locker and put her books in it. As she opened her bag and leaned it against the locker with her leg she looked back at Chris walking down the hallway to see him looking back at her as one of his friends talked to him.
He quickly looked away and started talking with his friend. Blake smiled a little before zipping up her bag and putting it on her back. She closed her locker and walked towards her next class.
THE GAME
Blake was standing in the bathroom at the game just before it started with her friends who were putting their boyfriends jersey's on and their numbers in blue on their cheeks. Jessica, her best friend since 1st grade, turned to her.
"Hey, why don't you pick from those jerseys?" She pointed to the pile of jerseys.
Blake picked the first one on top and put it over her blue shirt. She turned to Jessica for her to put the number on her cheek. Jessica put the number 13 on her cheek. Blake looked at herself in the mirror. She turned around and looked at the name on the jersey and her eyes went wide.

"Blake, come on, the games are starting." Jessica called her
"I can't, I have Christopher's number on." Blake panicked.
"Oh, come on, you guys are still messing with each other. You've been doing this since the second grade. Literally it started the moment you guys met." Jessica looked at her.
"No, it's him. He throws paper at me everyday." Blake told her.
"Come on, he'll be so focused on the game, he won't even notice you." Jessica told her.
"We're in the front row, Jess." Blake looked at her like she was crazy.
"Come on, you know him and the game." Jessica told her before Blake sighed and stood there silent for a moment.
"Okay." Blake followed her out with the other girls
They walked out and walked into the stand where the announcer talked.
"And here comes the Boston Comets. Lead by none other than Chris Evans." The guy spoke as the team ran out past the cheerleaders as smoke blew out.
They all held their helmets in their hands as they ran out and everyone cheered. They ran out to the coaches and got in a huddle as the other team came out. The game started with the Comets defense out first. As the cornerback stopped the Tiger's from getting 5 yards they cheered.
After 4 downs the Comet's offense was out there.
"DOWN, SET, HUT, HUT." Chris yelled as the stands stayed quiet as the center tossed Chris the ball and he looked around before seeing their tight end open about halfway down the field. He threw the ball and their tight end caught and started running. A big guy from the Tiger's came from the side and tackled him and the other team cheered.
The center snapped the ball to Chris but as Chris looked around a big guy came around and tackled him to the ground hard.
"oooohh." You heard across the crowd all together.
Blake covered her mouth waiting for Chris to stand up and shake his head like he usually did. Blake watched as the guy got off of him and Carmen the center walked over to him and stuck his hand out helping Chris up. Chris picked the ball up from the ground and nodded his head at Carmen and handed him the ball and they all back in position.Carmen snapped the ball and Chris was quick looking around and finding one of our wide receivers down the field. He threw the ball and the wide receiver caught it and ran towards the end zone dodging anyone who came at him. As he stepped onto the 5 yard line the guy behind him tripped and grabbed his ankle making him fall.
