Aarav understood what it meant. Harsh came to know that he has fever which he thought he had well hidden.
He gestured for him to keep quiet by placing his finger on his lip. Harsh nodded and continued eating.
A few minutes later
Aarav and Harsh came back to their home, and Harsh straight away placed a thermometer in his mouth even before he could speak something.
Harsh went inside his room to bring his medical bag. Aarav knew that it's 24 hours post vaccine, and he could now take medication for reducing fever.
Aarav took out the thermometer and was about to read it, but Harsh took the thermometer from his hand and read it.
"Why were you hiding your fever from me?" Harsh asked, sitting next to him.
"I wasn't hiding from you. I didn't want Anika to know the reason for fever, or next time, she would never agree to take a vaccine."
"Hmm, I see. You're right. But your fever is high, now what to do to lower the fever." Harsh asked as he started checking his heartbeat.
Aarav stayed quiet for a minute till Harsh checked his vitals.
"You decide. Maybe I should take an acetaminophen shot, but i leave it to you. Please remember I have to go to the hospital tomorrow and deliver a speech. I really need to be back on energy." Aarav says and laid down on the couch itself.
He was too low on energy.
Harsh was standing nearby and watching his actions along with listening to what he said and thereafter leaving.
Aarav was still laid down on the couch when Harsh came back and kept the required items on the table.
Aarav looked on the table and saw 2 vials were kept. He took both the vials in his hand and read the labels. The 1st one was acetaminophen, and the 2nd shot was a sort of energy booster.
"That's why it is said we should never treat ourselves. How did you know i needed this one." Aarav asked, standing up to adjust his trousers.
"Because only after this injections, you will be back as Dr.Aarav." Harsh smiled and started preparing them.
At Anika's home
Anika went to her room to go to sleep. As soon as she was in bed, she took her phone to check without which she could not go to sleep.
"Yeh toh Aarav ka phone hai. (This is Aarav's phone)" She said, getting up.
"Bhul gaya, kya Karu, de ke aau. Nai khud ayega lene. Agar aaj nai aya toh kal subah ayega lekin main toh late tak soungi. Aur usko hospital jana hai."
( He forgot, now what to do, should I give it to him? No, he will come himself. If he doesn't come tonight, then he will come tomorrow early morning, but I have to sleep till late and he has to go to hospital.)
After thinking a lot she decided to go to his home and give it to him.
At Aarav's home
Aarav was laid on the couch on his stomach, and Harsh was loading both the shots when he saw the door wasn't locked.
"The door is not locked.Let me first lock it, then I will go you the injection." Harsh said before getting up.
"Leave it na, who is coming now. It is shut no one can see from outside. Do the injection fast." Aarav says, not worried about someone getting in.
Aarav was extremely relaxed with his eyes closed. Harsh was also sitting close to him. As Aarav said, he decided to give the injection without locking the gate.
He wiped an area on his back, and with the other hand, he expelled the first drops of the medication when he saw Anika standing there surprised.
She came in as it was not locked without making any noise.
Harsh gestured her to keep standing there as he knew Aarav was relaxed, and it was the best time for him to get the injection.
Ignoring Anika, Harsh injected Aarav on his back, getting no reaction from him.
Anika saw the whole administration without noticing who the patient was.
It was the first time she saw someone getting an injection. The needle enters the tender skin, and then the medication is pushed before taking it out.
"You ok, Aarav, shall I do the 2nd injection." Harsh asked him while rubbing the first spot.
"Yes, go ahead." Aarav said, taking the cotton from him to remove it.
Anika now saw Aarav's face.
Before she could react or say something, she saw Harsh pulling the trousers from the other side and wiping the area with a swab.
She saw Harsh looking at her with an injection in his hand, expelling the medicine before doing the injection.
A dreadful sight for her.
She suddenly turned back to avoid watching the administration.
"No, stay still, no moving allowed." Harsh said, confusing both Aarav and Anika. They couldn't understand to whom he said.
Anika dare not oppose Harsh at the moment.
Thereby, as a result, Anika watched Harsh again, injecting Aarav from inserting the syringe and slowly pushing it into his body to take it off completely.
She was expecting Aarav to show some kind of irritation, but none. He didn't show any kind of pain he would be experiencing.
"Did it hurt, Aarav?" Harsh asked, rubbing the other side.
"Nope, Anika should see injections aren't very painful." Aarav said, standing up and adjusting his clothes.
"She saw you getting both the injections." Harsh said while discarding the needles.
Just then, Aarav saw Anika. He was unaware till now.
"Oh, Anika, when did you come here?" Aarav aske, trying to put up full energy.
"I came when you were..." Anika said but did not complete the sentence.
But the message was conveyed.
"So you saw me getting injected. Then say na properly, okay leave it, come sit here, i will tell you what happened to me, and why i took 2 injections" Aarav says sarcastically, expecting her to deny understanding the reason for the injection.
He still didn't want her to know that he had a fever.
"Of course not, no need explaining me, I came here to give you your phone back. I will leave." Anika says, handing him his phone and leaving immediately.
Aarav and Harsh laughed together.
A loud laugh.
"She wasn't comfortable watching me on the spot."
"You weren't aware that she was watching you. Otherwise, you would have also denied getting it in front of her." Harsh assumed what Aarav thinks.
"No, I was ok to she watching me. I am a doctor. If I don't feel odd giving it, why feel odd taking it in front of our close people."
"Aarav, do you love her?"
"What made you question this?"
"Ok, forget it, i thought you might be."
Aarav started thinking about Anika.
Why did Harsh think he loves Anika.
"Maybe because we are very close." Aarav thinks before going to bed.
