Jotaro waited outside the over crowded restaurant as gramps finished paying for the meal they got. Squinting his eyes he could see a hooded figure approaching slowly putting him slightly on edge. As the girl walked past he could see part of her downcast face, immediately recognizing her.

"(Y/n)?" Jotaro called out. But she ignored him or just couldn't hear him over the rain.

Jotaro's body acted on its own, he couldn't rationalize reaching out and grabbing her forearm gently but something inside him just couldn't let her walk off. Whipping her head around she looked at him with frantic eyes that seemed to fill with relief that it wasn't someone else. Looking her over her eyes were red and puffy, her left cheek was somewhat swollen and starting to bruise, and one of her pant legs was ripped at the knee with blood smeared on.

"What happened?"

At Jotaro's question, her bottom lip quivered before tears filled her eyes.

"Oh my god! Jotaro what's going on?!" Gramps practically yelled, causing Jotaro to roll his eyes. "Are you alright young lady?"

(Y/n) tugged her arm slightly trying to get it back but Jotaro was reluctant to let go, having a feeling she would run off if he did. She brought her hand up that he wasn't holding and gripped the hem of her sweatshirt tightly. "Um. I- I'll be okay." She barely got out in a broken voice.

"What happened?" Gramps asked in a gentle tone.

She let out a shaky breath before opening and closing her mouth a few times before biting her lip and looking down. "I, uh... I got in an argument with my dad..."

Jotaro grit his teeth at her answer recalling what that woman on the balcony had said so long ago.

"Where are you headed to now?" Gramps asked.

"I- I was going to go to the park near here." She whispered out and shifted uncomfortably.

"So you don't have anywhere to go then?"

she dropped her head further and shook her head slightly.

Gramps went closer to her and offered her a hug to which she immediately went to wrap her arms around his torso, as her arms moved towards him Jotaro finally let go of her arm. "It's okay now, cry all you want." Gramps said and rubbed small circles on her back as comfort.

Jotaro watched as they stood there and (Y/n) gripped tightly at his shirt rinkleing the cloth. She would sometimes let out sobs that were muffled by his shirt. It pissed Jotaro off to no end to see her in such a state. After a few minutes, she leaned back from gramps, a few tears still running down her cheeks. "I'm sorry, I got your shirt wet." She mumbled.

"You don't need to apologize for that, I mean it's already raining!" Gramps said with mirth and lightly gripped (Y/n)'s shoulders. "Now then, would you like to stay the night at our house? I'm sure it'll be better than the park, especially in this weather."

(Y/n) cracked a small smile, "but what if I like the rain?"

"Well, do you?"

"Mildly."

(Author's note- y'all I cannot stand my dyslexic ass, I was rereading this and really thought it said m'lady????? And I was like I do not remember writing that, then I looked at it again and I was like ohhhhhhhhhh, I'm just stupid.)

"Then it's settled, you're stuck with me for the night." Gramps smiled at her and she nodded slightly.

Seeing a cab drop some people off at the restaurant Jotaro waved for it to stay there.
