If you could see me now, would you still consider me weak? Slow? Or even a villain?
~☆Ten Years Earlier☆~
I've never been my mother's favourite. It was always my sister. Her powers of nature always intrigued my mother. There are days where I believe I'm invisible to her. No matter how many targets I hit, how many tricks I learn, or new weapons I build, she's never really noticed me.
Today, I'm in the arena working on attacking with hearing instead of relying on my sight. I have my bow in my left hand with an arrow loaded but not drawn. I feel the wind blow through my hair before taking a deep breath.
"Pull!" I shout, drawing my bow and listening to the first release. My hand released the draw when I heard the discovery launch from my left side.
"Hit!" I hear my sister shout. She was kind enough to help me with this training session, though before she teased me for being half blind. We do three more pulls before our mother comes in and almost gets herself shot.
"What the hell, Xxelian?!" She shouts angrily, storming over and ripping the blindfold off my eyes, "If I didn't have my shield that would have gone in my chest."
"We'll maybe you shouldn't interrupt my training session then." I sass back, putting my bow onto its holder that rested on my outfit, "You knew I was out here and what I was doing, so what in your bright mind thought it was gonna be a good idea to call out to the goddess who doesn't miss?"
"Don't get snarky with me, young lady."
I roll my eyes in response and she grabs my left arm.
"Xxelian Sienna Starr."
I used my fire power to get her off me.
"Don't touch me." I say with glowing purple irises, "I don't appreciate being grabbed."
"I am your mother. I'll do-"
"As you please. What-the-fuck-ever." I went and grabbed my fallen arrows, "But anyways, since you ruined my session, great Athena, what do you want your bitchiness, I mean highness."
"Nah, bitchiness is more accurate." My sister joked, we shared a chuckle and a high five before our mother silenced us one more.
"Hades wants to see you, Xxelian. I don't know what for."
"Maybe he's finally decided to kill me."
"Stop that bullshit."
"I've been alive since the sixteen hundreds. I've seen enough shit happen to want Hades to take his marks away."
"Xxelian, go."
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving."
I used my fire power to help open a quick gate to Hades's realm. When I arrived I was greeted by his spirit guards in which are nameless but have decided to call them Steve and Larry. They don't speak at all either which is a little creepy, but over the years I've learned to just roll with it. Hades's power to summon spirits, make inescapable bone cages, and his power to cheat death have made his powers easy to master.
But as I approached Hades's throne I took a knee out of respect for the God of Death. "Hades, you've summoned me?"
"Get up, you twerp." He groans, "You know I hate that."
I chuckle a little at his response, "Eh, I'm trying to he respectful."
"It's weird to have it come from a distant relative. So for the love of Zues, stop."
"Fine." I chuckle, crossing my arms, "What do you want?"
"I've been playing with the elements in my fire pit." He said as we began walking towards the fire pit room, "You are aware how different elements change the heat and colour of the flame?"
