~* Sonic's Pov *~

I woke up, guess I must've gotten a little
too cosy with Shadow, and speaking of Shadow, he was gone.

I sighed and rubbed my eyes as I got up, it was early-ish, I think.

"Sleep well?" My head snapped around, I already knew it was Shadow and I smiled. He stood at the door frame, that same smirk on his face.

"Better than I ever have," I got out of the bed, thankful I showered last night before bed because that would have been disgusting.

"I'm not surprised, how many times was that last night?" He said as he pretended to count with his fingers.

"Shut up." I jokingly barged past him as I left his room, but just as I did, I heard a buzz, both of our ears flicking.

"It's not my phone, must be yours," Shadow shrugged as I groaned and walked back in to find it.

"It musta' like, fell out of my quilts or something.." I whispered to myself as I got on all fours to look under the bed, to which I found it. "Gotcha!"

I turned around to see Shadow staring, deciding to use this to my advantage.

"Like watcha' see, Shads?" I flicked my tail and let it wag a little, as I watched his cheeks go bright red. and I chuckled to myself.

I checked my phone to see that there was a major Eggman attack? I forgot I took off my communicator I grabbed it, and my phone was on do not disturb! Shit!

"Shadow, we gotta go!" I stood up as I scrolled through the many missed calls.

"What's happened?" He stood up properly, the mood completely changed.

"Major Eggman attack apparently!" I turned to look at him, before putting on my shoes and speeding to the front door.

"C'mon!" I urged as he struggled to put his skates on, but we were out of there in no time.

~* 3rd Person *~

The two hedgehogs arrived at the scene a few moments later, buildings had been seriously damaged and many civilians had already evacuated. Sonic spotted Knuckles, The Chaotix, Amy and Rouge fighting the badniks, he started to panic even more when he couldn't see Tails.
The cobalt hedgehog ran towards the fight, Shadow following, they destroyed multiple badniks on the way.

"Fuck sakes, where have you both been?!" Knuckles yelled furiously, smashing badniks with his fists.

"I'm sorry! Where's Tails?!" Sonic fought off the robots, while Shadow went off and did his own thing.

"Eggman took him! There wasn't enough of us!" Rouge flew over, helping Knuckles.

"Can you handle the rest? I'll go get Tails!" Sonic asked, the pair nodded and he started to leave, waving to Amy and the Chaotix.

"I'll come, seems to not be many badniks left," Shadow had caught up to him, Sonic nodded and followed his counterpart as they headed to Eggman's base.

The pair of hedgies were in the forest just in front of Eggman's base, looking for a discreet way in.

"Do you not know any secret ways to get in? Since you like kinda worked with him?" The blue blur asked a little cautiously, but Shadow didn't seem to mind.

"Years ago, Faker. There is one I do recall, but I'm not sure if he would have blocked it off or not." Shadow walked around, Sonic
followed.

"Do you not think it's time to drop Faker?" Sonic huffed, Shadow turned around and looked as though to be thinking about it.
