His scent

"But what else would I call you?" The dark hedgehog continued walking on.

"Maybe my name?!" Sonic sped ahead of Shadow, now walking backwards.

"It's not that deep, I'm just used to calling you that, like you call me Shads."

"It's not that deep.. no way you've just said that." Sonic chuckled but more in a shocked way.

"What? Is that a bad thing to say?" Shadow looked confused.

"Well it's very annoying, and it is kinda deep, I let go of calling you Faker ages ago!" Sonic exclaimed, before tripping up over a large rock, luckily though, Shadow caught him.

"Fine, Sonic." Shadow rolled his eyes, but quickly planted a kiss on Sonic's lips before continuing on. The blue hedgehog blushed and walked beside the other.

"Here. Be quick and try not to be seen, the cameras are everywhere." Shadow said and dashed over to a vent, Sonic followed him.

"And yet you have just kissed me," The azure hedgehog commented, to which Shadow rolled his eyes.

The ebony hedgehog carefully removed the large vent grille, and let Sonic go in first, then went in after him and placed the vent grille back on. Thankfully, since the hedgehogs are smaller than the average human, they were able to crawl through easily.

But the actual act of crawling was excruciating for Shadow, because as all he could see right in front of his face was a blue ass swaying back in forth as he crawled.

"Sweet Chaos.." The ebony hedgehog murmured lowly, causing Sonic to stop and try turn his head as much as he could.

"What?" Sonic whispered, barely being able to see the blush on Shadow's face.

"Nothing.. keep going," Shadow grumbled, and they continued crawling throughout the vents.

"Okay.." Sonic started moving again, but it wasn't long before they heard Robotnik's voice.

"Hm, surprised the rodents haven't shown up yet," Eggman thought out loud, Sonic & Shadow managed to get a look at him through the vent.

"They'll be here anytime soon Eggman," Tails scoffed, he was in a chair and tied up, which was quite poor coming from the doctor.

"Fox, tell me, have you noticed anything different about Sonic?" Eggman said trying to sound innocent, but a sly smirk crept up in his face. The blue hedgehog turning his head to glance at Shadow.

Tails thought a little before hesitantly replying.

"What did you do?" The yellow fox basically demanded, "This has gotta do with the perfume, doesn't it?!"

"Don't be so quick to judge! I was just asking, vermin," Eggman pinched the ends of his moustache, while Tails growled at him, "But if you must know, it's nothing that will effect Sonic, just perhaps some other hedgehog.."

Shadow gritted his teeth and growled lowly, Chaos the things he would do to that bastard.

"Hey," Sonic whispered to gain Shadow's attention. "We going down now?" Shadow nodded.

The pair bust open the vent and hopped down, making Tails and Eggman jump.

"Ah! Oh, it's only- wait- Sonic & Shadow!" The doctor panicked and pressed a few buttons on his console, seconds later multiple robots entered the room.

"This all you got, Eggy? Pretty boring, considering we came all this way!" Sonic grinned and fought off the badniks, Shadow alongside him.

Soon enough, the badniks were destroyed, but as Sonic was going to untie Tails, he heard clunky footsteps that weren't Shadow's.

"Ugh, Metal?" The blue blur groaned, but he decided to quickly untie Tails so he wouldn't be around for the fight.

"I'll go look for Eggman, you deal with Metal," Shadow grunted and skated off, while Sonic ushered Tails to leave through the vent they came in.

"Go, I'll be home soon," Sonic placed the grille back onto the vent as his brother crawled away, leaving just him and Metal.

"Gaia, I don't know how you're still working after all the times I've beaten your ass!" The cobalt hedgehog said, before spindashing right into Metal, the screeching sound irritating his ears.

After a few swings, punches and spin dashes, Sonic had once again defeated Metal, he felt like it was getting easier every time!

"I better find Shadow before he kills Egghead.." Sonic murmured to himself as he sped off down the hallway he had saw his counterpart take.
