Forest Zone

"Come on! We have to get out of here!"

A simple expedition. That was all it was supposed to be. Gathering materials, search for supplies that can be used. It was simple. Something that was pushed toward them. They accepted the task without any complaints. After all, that means they get to leave the camp, away from the glances, stares, the verbal remakes that they have to endure.

Anemone, the leader of the Resistance Camp received a message from YoRHa's Commander that the access point in the Forest Zone was back online and that none of the YoRHa soldiers had gone into the forest from reports received. Commander White asked Anemone for an investigation on the matter and if anything could be found as the rest of her soldiers were busy with other tasks.

Last that everyone heard, the entrance toward the Forest Kingdom was closed out as the gate in the Shopping Center blocked the entry into the forest. So they were chosen to investigate the matter and come back should they have any information or they failed to find any.

The gate in the Shopping Center was broken when they arrived. Forced entry as the gate has been cut open to walk through. When they arrived at the access point it was safe and the barrier around it was gone with machine parts littered on the ground. Those weren't the only signs that someone was destroying machines in the area as there were more machines dead along the path.

Finding clues, any information, and gathering materials while they're at it for the camp, they continued traversing through the forest. And then...

"▂▂▃▃▅▅!!"

Running through the forest, she supported her sister, Devola, as the two were damaged by the enemy.

They entered an area that was filled with machines. It was unnerving, the noises of distorted yells rang through their systems when entering a certain part of the forest. They saw many machines, their eyes glowing a bright red, shaking their heads while holding them, they panicked around the place as they were kicking their feet around looking to be completely in pain.

The machines went berserk. All of them seemed to attack mindlessly and they so happened to have come across them. Many more machines would appear, equally in an insane state as they mindlessly attacked them. Their attacks hold more power to them.

Lately, machines have been known to begin speaking coherent sentences. It was worrying that there were signs of machine lifeforms evolving. The village that they work with is a group of pacifist machines, something they never thought existed. More and more machines have shown strange signs with them. These machines were crying out for help and that it hurts...and to protect a "Forest King". However, now they seem mindless and only yell in distortion while attacking.

These machines are out of control and they're not sure why. Is it due to the machine network?

"We'll get out of here. We'll make it back safe. Back to the—"

"Sis...leave me and r—"

"Don't even suggest leaving you to die!" She continued to run while her sister's arm was over her neck, she sluggishly ran while dragging Devola away. She refuses to leave her here and die to the machines that are after them.

Her system is rigid, fear coursing through her as she continues to run through the forest doing her best to avoid having any more machines find them. 

"We'll make it out together. We'll survive. We'll still be together!" Popola told her sister as she continued to trudge through the forest. The distorted screams of the machines weren't far off from them. "We only have...each other...after all..." She muttered with distress.
