Though we do not hear about how the deaths of Johnny and Dally affected them, it is clear that losing two close friends in such a short period of time, would have an effect on them.
If Johnny and Dally never died, the group would feel whole again. The mix of all personalities that the group had is what keeps them together. Their friend group could be stronger as a whole, especially after the trauma. The bad moments could easily bring the friend group together, assuming they have all the pieces to the puzzle.
