My aunt believes I am an incompetent rich girl from New York who has never ridden a bus. Well, she is wrong again. I have ridden on many different buses and trains to escape from the psych hospital. And as much money as my parents had in their pockets, it means nothing if you aren't free. Money doesn't always equal to freedom. My aunt and cousin were unable to comprehend this.

The last time I was dressed in name-brand clothing was the day my parents told me I was going to the hospital. My fashion of clothing was breezy hospital gowns and yellow grippy socks. I was lucky if I ever found the gray ones. If you have ever been to a hospital, you would understand.

As I stood in the corner waiting for the bus to arrive, I felt a sprinkle of rain coming down. A few cars passed by, and I could feel that the bus would arrive at any moment. I pray for that to be the case, at least.

'I don't think the bus is coming. Also, it's going to pour soon.'

"Why can't you be positive for once..." I sighed, slipping on a pair of my airpods. I figured if I had this on, I wouldn't appear like a crazy person talking to herself. There were tricks I had picked up from fellow patients with similar diagnoses. My hallucinations can come in the form of auditory or visual. Today, it appears it is going to be a combination.

The voice in my head decides to take the form of an annoying white shadow. This wasn't abnormal, but it wasn't typical either. My therapist would say I was feeling stressed, and that's why 'Daisy' was appearing again.

Yes, I named my symptom Daisy. Daisy has always been with me since I was in grade school. The only weird thing about Daisy from the rest of my hallucinations was that she never had a face, unlike the others.

'I think we should just start looking for a ride.'

" Yeah, I guess you're right." I pulled out my phone to catch an Uber or Lyft nearby. The app only showed one car and was 30 minutes away on Lyft. I could try Uber.

'Mm, give it a try?'

As I was lost in my thoughts with Daisy, suddenly a loud, abrupt honking noise pierced through the air, sending a jolt of surprise through my body. A black Mustang with a very familiar lopsided grin and green eyes locked on mine.

"So you decided to wear clothes today?" I said, raising an eyebrow.

"Unfortunately, it's school policy to wear clothes. But I guess I can say the same to you. You're definitely going to get written up for wearing PJ's. Martha is a pain in the ass for the school dress code." Cole said casually as if he wasn't parked in the middle of the street.

"Well, that sucks." I shrugged. There was nothing left in me to care about a school dress code. The worst they could do is write me up.

"Want to give me a ride to school?" I found myself asking and then profoundly regretting it. For a moment, I thought I saw an eerie glow in his eyes, but it quickly faded away.

"Depends... I may need to ask you for a favor." He said with a sly and mischievous smirk.

'We should just catch an Uber.'

'Definitely, but there's not a ride close by for miles.' I inwardly sighed.

'Then we walk?'

A rumble of thunder struck the sky. Cole's smile widened, knowing I was trapped in a corner. Either I made a deal with the devil or be drenched in water. Why couldn't I catch a break?

" I don't have all day, Rachel. I'm going to be late for first period." Cole reminded me as he tapped on his wrist.

"Fuck it, fine," I grumbled as I headed toward the driver's seat. The car smelled practically brand new. I knew guys like to keep their vehicles clean, but this felt ridiculously clean.
