The city was hushed as Miles swung through the night, the wind blowing through his hair. He couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement, a sense of something new and different. And then, with a click, his phone buzzed, and he saw a text from Gwen. He smiled, his heart racing at the thought of talking to her. He knew it was wrong, knew that he shouldn't be doing this, but he couldn't help himself. He loved her, and he couldn't let his emotions rule him.
And yet no matter how hard he tried to push the feelings down, they kept bubbling up inside of him. He felt like he was on the cusp of something new, something that he didn't quite understand, and it was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure.
As he swung through the night, his mind was lost in thought, lost in the thoughts of Gwen, lost in the thoughts of something new and different.
He landed on a roof, his legs still tingling from the adrenaline rush of swinging through the air. He reached for his phone, his heart racing with excitement as he read the text from Gwen.
"Hey, Miles," the text read. "How's it going?"
Miles smiled, his fingers tapping out a quick response. "It's going great, Gwen. Just swinging through the night, catching bad guys."
Gwen responded almost immediately, her thumbs moving quickly across her phone screen. "That's amazing, Miles! You're so brave!"
Miles felt a sense of pride wash over him at Gwen's words. He loved Gwen, loved the way she supported him and made him feel like he was doing something important. And yet, no matter how hard he tried to push the feelings down, they kept bubbling up inside of him. He felt like he was on the cusp of something new, something that he didn't quite understand, and it was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure.
"Hey, Miles," Hobie's voice suddenly cut through the silence, his eyes glittering with something dark and dangerous. "What are you doing, Spider-Man?" he said, his voice cold and calculating.
With a sigh, Miles took a step back, his heart racing with the mixture of fear and excitement he was feeling. He couldn't hide from Hobie, couldn't let him catch him texting to Gwen. He needed to face him, needed to stop him, needed to do his job as Spider-Man.
"I'm just texting with Gwen," he said, his voice low and intense. "She's my friend, Hobie."
Hobie's eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward, his hands clenching in anger. "She's a distraction, Spider-Man," he said, his voice low and dangerous. "You can't let her get in the way of your duties."
Miles felt himself stepping back again, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew Hobie was right, knew that he shouldn't let himself get distracted. But no matter how hard he tried to push the feelings down, they kept bubbling up inside of him. He felt like he was on the cusp of something new, something that he didn't quite understand, and it was both exciting and terrifying in equal measure.
He looked up at Hobie, his eyes meeting the older man's gaze. "She's my friend, Hobie. I can't just ignore her."
Hobie's eyes narrowed further, and he took another step forward, his hands clenching even tighter. "She's a distraction," he said, his voice low and dangerous.
