The sanctum was huge. From the outside, you could see the red carpet that adorned most of the ground. A throne room, you soon realized it was, as a throne rested atop the second floor of the sanctum, overlooking the entrance Link and you had yet to cross. Torn flags with the royal family's seal hung on many walls, flowing gently with the bit of wind that entered through many open walls.

Behind the throne stood a long window that scaled up high, but it didn't pour light in the way it was supposed to. With the permanent mist that shrouded the castle grounds, hues of red and purple seeped through, making the once grand room appear haunting.

Link and you both held onto your swords as you walked through the tall stone archway. There was a small flight of stairs, and the second you stepped down, the ground shook. Your gaze flew up, and the ball of malice you were met with made your heart drop.

A large cocoon hung from the high ceiling, gurgling and churning as it battled something inside. The blinding light Link and you had seen from the castle gates began to brew and shine through the cocoon with a high ring as it warded the dark hues.

"Link," you both heard a voice echo around the room quietly, but it grew louder as the ball of malice began to shake more. "(Y/n)...I'm sorry...but my power isn't strong enough." Chills ran down your spine when you realized it was Princess Zelda speaking to you both. Her voice spilled with anguish, and Link grabbed your hand as the ground began to tremble with the shake of the cocoon. "I can't hold him..."

Her voice ceased, and the second it did, a beam of light, similar to that of a Guardian, shot out from the cocoon.

"Get down!" Link shouted, pulling you to the ground as the beam blazed in all directions, singing the floor you were on and the drapes that hung around. Smoke coiled from the ground, and the cocoon above rang as it cracked open before exploding. Drops of malice fell from the ceiling, but that wasn't the worst thing that came down with it.

You had no idea what you were seeing fall until the massive being collided with the stone platform, breaking it clean and causing it to dip into something that rested beneath the sacred sanctum.

The second he felt a plummeting sensation in his stomach, Link reached for you instantly. "Grab onto me!" He shouted over the powering sounds of breaking stone that had started to slip down a massive hole. He felt his balance shake the instant you both began to plunge into the hole with the rest of the debris, but instead of meeting a crushing fate, Link pulled out his paraglider and stopped the sharp descent. He was breathing a bit roughly, looking down with you as the being dived straight down until it entered the cavity of an enormous dome.

Link watched as the monster crashed onto the ground, lifting ancient dust that swept around as he tried to direct the paraglider far away from it.

"Calamity Ganon," you mumbled as you clung onto Link. You could see the scourge of Hyrule Castle grow closer as you neared the ground. You had never imagined what Calamity Ganon would look like, but what you were seeing stretched far from anything you could ever conjure. He had legs like the Guardians and weapons in each of its six hands, with a firing blade being its largest one as he drove it around, tasting freedom after a century of enclosure. Ancient weapons, like the ones Link had to go against with the Blights, glowed brightly in Calamity Ganon's hands, and every single one hummed with coiling violence.

When Link moved the paraglider down, the two of you fell gently near the edge of the dome, and for a second, the only thing you could both do was watch as the scourge let out bleeding cries before his red gaze fell on you both.

His menacing gaze pierced through you as he raised his fiery blade, but before he could strike it down, the ground you stood on began to tremble. The tremors grew, and Link grabbed onto you as blinding blue light began to pool above the hole you had fallen into. The sound of crumbling rocks and charging power cracked the air until a powerful blue beam shot straight down the hole, crashing against Calamity Ganon.
