Even though I had known Nicklaus for a short period, I knew he would do that. That got me rising to my feet, and walking to the door. When I opened it, I came face to face with Nicklaus and I rolled my eyes at him.
“Hey,” He smirked.
“Hey,” I returned with a smile, while my eyes walked his body.
He was clad in a drawstring waist shorts and white T-shirt, he stood with his hands held to the two sides of his waist, smiling. “Can I come in?” He asked, his eyes darting into my apartment.
There was no way he didn’t know how good-looking he was.
“I told you I already had dinner.” I folded my arms across my chest. It wasn’t a lie, I almost finished a pack of large-sized pizzas.
“Well, that makes the two of us,” he shrugged. He studied my face for a second, and then said, “Can I come in now?”
“What if I say no?”
“You know you wouldn’t,” he smirked. “Or you wanna know what my scream sounds like?” He winked at me and my heart skipped a beat.
“As long as you take your shoes off and keep them over there,” I pointed at the shoe stand I kept by the wall, before walking to the spot I was seated at.
“Yes ma’am.” I heard him say, and it wasn’t long before he caught up with me at the table.
I plopped down to where I was seated and he mirrored sitting next to me, “You’ve been drinking.” If it was a statement or a question, I wasn’t sure.
“Just a glass,” I said, turning to him.
His eyes were fixed on the table and suddenly there was no trace of any emotion in them. “Is that from Julia’s?” His eyes went from the cupcake to me, and immediately our eyes met, I took a deep breath.
I answered, “Ye– Yeah.” And quickly shifting my gaze to the table. “You can have it if you want.” He glanced at the cupcake, and back to me. “This is the last one and I got them free too.” I smiled.
“You did?” He asked, surprise edging his tone.
“Yeah,” I shrugged. “Why?”
“She likes you.” He said, smirking. Leaning towards the table, he rested his arm on the table and his gaze on the laptop in front of me. “It’s good to see Julia like someone.”
“Not more than she likes you guys though,” I said and he tilted his face to me. Was he intentionally acting sexy or was every movement he made just sexy?
Nicklaus leaned back up, and turned to me, his face moulding into a serious expression. “You know, Muna,” he started and I stared at him. “I and Andrew became friends with Julia in high school, and we ended up being kind of all she has.” He sighed.
I raised my brows questionably at him, “She has no family or any other friends?”
“Not all of us are lucky to have the most amazing family, and we are the closest friends she has.” He said. “Were you working before I came in?” He asked, glancing between me and the laptop on the table.
“Nah, I shrugged. “Just reading some of the comments under my most recent vlog.” I smiled, leaning towards the table, I placed my left elbow to arm on it and scrolled up the comments.
“Andrew sent me some links to your videos,” Nicklaus said.
I paused and turned to look at him. “Yeah?”
He shrugged, “They are amazing. I don’t have the time to watch stuff like that, but you stole a lot of my time.” He was doing it again, gazing at me fervently.
